I get passed all the time on the Stuart by the heros in their HSV and FPV (even s**tbox Daeundais) doing the "legal" 130kmh. Imagine trying to lift that buff off your chest after it came through the windscreen.......

I was thinking bullbar or not a buffalo/cow/horse etc is going over the top of most of it. Looking at the steel bar behind the bumper it was virtually untouched

Why did they have to go onto the verge to collect the buff?

There's cattle all along the highways and roads throughout the Kimberley despite fences. You drive with a cautionary attitude and always prepared for a wandering animal. Unlike kangaroos that suddenly bolt across the road, cattle seldom sprint from one side without warning. You see them grazing with their heads down. That's okay because they are busy eating. If they lift their head then there's a good chance their eye-balling the grass on the other verge. Young calves are un-predictable. Just like little children you use extreme caution when they're near the road. Cattle at night are a real problem because they blend in and often your headlights do not illuminate them very well. Here's a tip travellers: drive carefully especially at dusk, night or dawn you morons. You will encounter a cow with a much higher certainty if you do.

Sometimes they think they own the road, you just have to stare them down

Have only had one sprint out of the bushes, down the side of a narrow track, just in front of my 80 series and into the bushes on the other side. Was a Brahman bull in N.T.

A few raised voices inside the vehicle when it ran out (not mine) as it was not too far from the bull bar (which would not have stopped the bull from rolling onto the Cruiser).

That's why Volvo can't get their wildlife collision avoidance system to work in Australia - They can get it to work with horses and cows, but Kangaroos don't fit the models, its too difficult to standardise the system around the erratic movements of kangaroos.

I think they did. It's more likely just the camera not having very effective night capture. Look carefully and you'll see the beams change colour after the strike

Came across some cattle on the road when we were heading in to Talbotville for the GTG, it was foggy so lucky nobody in the convoy ran into them. We just had to wait patiently till the buggers decided to move off, they were in no hurry LOL.
