    It's a ford - even the link doesn't work :P

I loved the Ranger when it came out, still want one but too many issues that I have read. This is based on the ranger. YOu can have a look on the ford forums for problems. I was just talked away from getting one.

I sent Ford many emails at one stage, I would like to think they listened to me as they did make some changes.

I suggested they looked at their tow bar
    Fit reverse camera standard
Fix the wiring loom for LED lights when towing
    Fit GPS standard

The worst blind spots from the A pillar of any car I have driven and I have driven plenty.

It's on the list for the next upgrade.

We have Rangers at work. Very comfortable to sit in even the back seats. Great ute to drive. The 3.2 is good but the 2.2 is a laggy slow POS.

Reliability is very questionable as quite a few have gone back for serious warranty work as almost all of them have less that 30k kms. Plus the standard rear leaf springs can't handle any weight and quickly collapse needing to be upgraded

Considering Fords attitude to customers and warranty claims (a couple I have been personally involved with) in recent years I would not spend my hard earned on one of their vehicles if they were the last vehicle manufacturer on the planet.

It's not the Hills Shire you work for? Well it's good to hear from someone that has first hand experience. Proof's my research.

I heard Nissan is pretty difficult to work with for warranty claims too. It's a shame these things happen. I am not sure how Toyota are with warranty work. Jeep - well you just have to jump on the forums and go to technical problem section and see for yourself!

It's a shame as I really love the look of the Everest!

lol - and Toyota is a breeze for warranty work !!

We have the new model Rangers at work.

Jury is out on long term reliability, but if you lift them they do ok. There were a couple issues with hoses n stuff which Ford have corrected (if you have it serviced at Ford), but not announced recalls as it is not safety critical.

After driving a new Ranger, I would certainly consider an Everest, but I would rather wait until longer term reliability is known.

Having said that, as an owner of 150 D4D, the more kilometres I rack up the more nervous I get. 135km and counting......

Well I test drove the Ranger Auto demo, the air conditioning unit wasn't working lol! That was a pretty hot day too! Now at the time I didn't have much experience driving autos as I was looking for a manual. But I found the auto not as smooth as my current 08 prado I settled for.

looks interesting I'm hoping to upgrade the prado in 2 years time, give another option
I don't take much notice of internet reviews with car faults you will always find bad ones! my best example is I have a 06 d4d prado and an 03 xr8, the prado has cost more then double in repairs and maintance the only thing that works out cheaper is it uses less fuel around town on the open road they both use 10lt per hundred, in saying that, I love both cars.
