When I was in Katherine quite a few years back, the aboriginal women were sitting on rugs and playing poker, and the wads of $50 notes each one had to bet with was so big, a cow could not jump over it (yes, cows can jump). I was told it was money for their mining royalties.

In other places of the Territory, I met some nice aboriginal people: hard working, had jobs, did not want any government handouts, and did not like their free loading relatives.

Done that twice now! If they stop the climb I will never return to the rock, I will take my money elsewhere.

I think they don't want you to climb because of what you can see from the top
