Paul,
There is a Prado picnic day on at Bylong Creek 4X4 park on the 10th of September.
Quite a few of us will be camping the weekend.
Would be a good chance to take your new Prado out on some of the easier tracks as well as catch up with other owners and get some great advise in person.

Hey there everyone,
Have decided to go with Great Divide Tours. They seemed the nicest people when I rang up and they coud give me an idea of what is involved in the course and what I will get out of it. Great Divide seemed to have the greatest number of people suggesting them too. Fred, I will see what I can do about coming along.
Thank you to all out there.

Hi Corigator,
For the 2day introductory course for 2 people, $595. Just have a look at their website http://www.4wd.net.au/driver-training it has all of the info and pricing too.

Wow.... I'd much rather join a club than pay $600... Sydney District 4x4 offers fully accredited training all the way from basic driver training, sand training, to advanced, bush mechanics, night driver and winch training, with everything inbetween. It's $85 a year to be a member, with a $100 joining fee, and all training is included free! They meet monthly and have around 200 members. I have been on day trips, weekend trips and month long trips (including the recent Simpson Desert trek). Significantly better than a $2000+ tag along tour!My Rig Build Up

this 4wd demo. This was after being driven round by one who almost rear ended one of his colleagues!
The picture shows a lot of head scratching and attempting to get the Isuzu back on the track.

Same as our club.
it's one thing to do a course but being part of a club gives you the opportunity to go out on a regular basis.
Then there's always other groups to go out with which are Prado groups.
With the club and other groups we get out 2-3 times a month.

Hey all,
Just went on the 4wd driver course with Great Divide, my wife and I had a great time. It was good to see what our car could do in a controlled environment. Being a Kakadu, the other people on the course were expecting us to play things safe but we took it on all the obsticles.
We decided to do the course through a driver training company rather than a club to allow us to find a club later that fits with us but get some basic training fast so we can at least start to use our vehicle for what it was designed for and not just for negotiating the jungle when you pick the kids up from school.
We would highly recommend Vic and his team. If we did it again we would go through them definitely. Thanks to those who recommended them.
