Transplanting v8 into my shorty is always been a fantasy for me.
Don't know whether technically or financially possible. But, enough $$$ can make a lot of things happen - huh?
    Fortunately, I have neither

      V8 Prado

The V8 Prado is a USA only vehicle and is sold in the the USA as a Lexus. Much the same as the 5.3L V8 Colorado. They are not exactly fuel efficent.

My wallet has been the sacrificial lamb for anything to do with a Kakadu! Still better than my wife wasting it on female crap!

I agree Fred that the V6 Prado is extremely capable for 4 wheel driving. Just wish it had a tad more towing capability as it seems far smaller rigs without full a chassis seem to be able to tow more; on paper at least which may be a mistruth!

When I bought my first van, the van salesman said the Prado (petrol model) would be a capable tow vehicle. Filled up the water tanks, added food and clothes, and other odds and ends, and drove it to S.A.

Spoke to other van owners, some who could see it was a new van and asked if I had weighed it first. So I weighed it on the way home - 2,600 kgs - so I emptied out most of the water to reach the 2,500 limit. (not all VIN plates are accurate)

Apart from the hills, the Prado towed the van quite well.

Currently have a slightly lower weight van, and the 2.5 inch exhaust with a straight through muffler makes for a better tow vehicle.

I found reference to it in the Landcruiser forum on LCOOL. Looked it up with Google. Invented by Tenneco Automotive I think in WA. There are youtube videos on it also

Our KDDS system was originally designed here in Oz by a small company in south west WA in Dunsborough. I spent my youth every weekend in Dunsborough surfing and drinking and remember them as the local 4Wd suspension mob. They were called Kinect suspensions or something. I think they sold the system (and the patents probably) to this Tenneco company in the late nineties who now license it out as the Kinectic system which Toyota and others use.
