Go to another dealer, that is just BS. I've had two new Prado 150 GXL manuals - a 2013 facelift and a 2015 last of the 1kd's. My dealer called around to others to find my colour preference both times and I had delivery in more than 3 weeks. You might have to wait a bit longer for a 2018 until the initial demand subsides, but don't be tricked thinking it's a factory order.Originally posted by Kygar View PostSaw the local dealer today. Stock is in tomorrow. He may as well have said that they (and Toyota) don't care if I want a manual. 99% sold are auto except the GX to mining companies. He claimed there would be no manual version in all of Vic for me to even test drive. If I wanted to order from the factory they would want a very large deposit in case the sale fell through....
Be persistent and go the manual anyway - i don't get it why the world's gone soft and dumb with everyone buying autos when there's a choice of a stick shift

Yea unfortunately you've got to take these things with a grain of salt. The more and more data that database gets, the more you will be able to see the outliers and the potential fabricators that are just making stuff up... you can see a cluster of people around the low 60 mark and they seem to be in WA and QLD...Originally posted by Rorz View PostWhere are people getting a 2018 gxl auto for 60k drive away?!! I dont believe it!

2018 Prado pricing database
*reposting this to get some more visibility*
I have created a 2018 Prado pricing database in order to get an idea of what people are getting their 2018 Prados for.
Here is the current database list:
Results = https://goo.gl/9kjE58
If you have enquired or bought a 2018 Prado, let us know the price you got it down to by filling out the 2 questions on this form (there are *optional* additional information if you wish to share):
Form = https://goo.gl/forms/ZkPgFK4gA2tLKSgG3
The database will automatically be updated once the form is filled out.
Thanks for contributing and hopefully this helps people negotiate at the dealership

From the Add-on list of my contract:Originally posted by Snouto View PostThat looks like one hell of a deal. I have a quote for Kakadu with metallic paint only at $83000, so you've managed to blag an awful lot for an extra ~$2k. I think the tow pack itself retails around $1800, the nudge bar goes for just under $1000, and bonnet protector about $200.
Well done, congrats!
Tow Pack $938
Nudge Bar $843
Bonnet Protector $129
Rubber Cargo mat $174
Carpet Front & Rear mats $136
Aero Roof Bars-pair $311
Tint 2 front windows only $460 (ripped off!!...you can do a whole car for that! lol)

Does the price goes down as year progresses.
I was wondering if prices go down as year progresses. As last time I checked in the website before new model was released they were giving driveway price to be 63k. Now it is showing as 68.
Does the price decrease between now and June. Just wondering if its worth the wait if I don't need the car now.

No, it's not a lease, just a normal retail sale. I thought the genuine bull bars were $2000+.....if so your price is getting close to mine. I don't know if different states have anything to do with it. The other 2 dealers i visited wouldn't match the price either.Originally posted by RobP69 View PostHi
Can I assume that this is a Lease price? I'm thinking of doing just that and the best I can get so far with same acc except a genuine bull bar for ~$87k
Cheers

HiOriginally posted by bigowenb View PostI could, but because i would blank out any way of identifying the dealer it probably wouldn't be much help. I wouldn't recommend anybody naming dealers that are giving good prices. I have learnt that some dealers get very nasty when there cash cow is being threatened by dealers with sharp prices. It's just a matter of shopping around. For example, i got this price from a dealer just over an hours drive away......passing 2 other dealers along the way that wouldn't come near that price. Both these dealers demanded to see the deal in writing before they would even consider trying to match it......which I know would have given them the info they needed to ring the offending dealer and abuse the crap out of them.

Where are people getting a 2018 gxl auto for 60k drive away?!! I dont believe it!Originally posted by aronm View PostHi All,
I have created the following simple 2 question form (with additional optional questions) to get an idea of what people are getting their 2018 Prados for.

The live results can be found here as people fill out the form for everyone to see:

So if you have gone and enquired or bought a 2018 Prado, let us know the price you got it down to, and if you're like me and looking to buy, hopefully this little database will help your negotiations.
I have also posted this in a few FB groups.
Thanks
p.s I have taken the liberty of collecting some of the info already posted in this forum, a couple of pages back now, so if you have mentioned your purchase here, I might have already added it.

Why not get a steal on the current Kakadu, Do you need the 3 T rating ?Originally posted by RobP69 View PostKDSS is what I wanted, ready to purchase the '17 EOFY but there were hints from a couple of dealers re:3 T tow, so I opted to wait....now I don't know which way to go other than I would buy the Kak for a song or look at something completely different
It all comes down to what your intended use is, we wanted something nice day to day but also very good off-road with out running 35" tyres and feeling like a truck.
It's been over a year and still think it was the best choice for us, the only 1 thing that is not great is the fuel economy now that it is all setup it sits on about 12.5-13 per 100 the biggest increase in usage was going up in tyre size. But motors still young hopfully it improves a little.
We don't regret buying a 2016, even now I would take a deal on a run out Kakadu if it was worth while $$$
Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks Ben......think i'll do the same and stick with the original size, didn't think about the spare cover! I've found Bob Jane the cheapest at $398ea fitted but won't trade-in the factory tyres whereas Tyre Power will and with the trade-in are $360ea fitted so will probably go with that.......counting down the sleeps to next week, always wanted a sunroof(not that i've got much hair left to blow in the wind!)Originally posted by bennyhodge View Postbigowenb
I went for the 265 60 18 and if you do all 5 at least the spare will still fit inside the rear housing, (I am not sure the slightly taller ones will allow this) I paid $407 per tyre fitted here in SA about 6 months ago. I am amazed at how quiet they are. Recently we did 2500km over to Ceduna, Pt Lincoln and even the wife said she couldn't notice any difference with the noise!! I personally would stick to the original sizing. I am jealous of the new bus! I really like the new lights!! You will love the Kakadu
