One thought springs to mind... As we have a GTG each year with the same banner, perhaps we can set some room aside on the banner for each GTG. A bit like those perpetual trophies. E.g.

2009 - Central Australia
2010 - ....
2011 - ....
etc.

I had thought about this too LFaR, I guess we could do the initial banner with the years like you have shown and then it would be a case of adding the destinations in vinyl lettering in subsequent years.

Actually, I didn't mean to have the years on the initial banner. Rather add the year and location (maybe month?) as each GTG goes by.

Yep thats fine although I dont think this one will fit Mavs final cut, as long as a 90s gets in there I wont be making a fuss.

We could always go with your 90 Sean.

Whatever is the outcome im happy, if you wish to include my vehicle that is. Id just like to see the 90s on the banner thats all Paul. We may be a minority, but we are loud and proud.

Yes I am a 120 driver but I always intended putting a 90 in our design. After all it was a friend at work with a 90 series that convinced me to get a Prado. Zookcubr if you have some nice pics of your Prado with a largely plain background please send them to me so I can try to mask out the background [email protected]

Okay now we are getting somewhere, I like the revised look Neil. Although my only concern is making it too specific a region if you know what I mean? I am thinking that we start at one side in the Red Centre then go through a morph to rainforest and then morph again to a beach view.

I also like the idea of using Joey's rig and a beefed up 90 series, maybe Yota's or someone like that?

I see WBY1 has the same idea with the 90 and 120 series.

My daughter choose the red centre not because of this years GTG but because it is internationaly recognised as Australia. I am more than happy to tweak things tomorrow and try some rain forest and beach as well.

I have been saying all along the cars I have used are just place holders, but I need some members rigs with plain backgrounds to take the member idea further. Joey, Chippy have any sutiable happy snaps loafing? Yota or any other 90 series owner?

I would love to help you out guys as one of my hobbies is art and my profession is in IT. However i don't own a programme good enough to do it at home. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product! I really like the idea of the contrast in scenery.

Defintely agree that both 90 and 120 series cars need to be on the banner. What about each having a PradoPoint sticker on the windscreen like Joeys?

OK slightly different tack this time as I was having troubles blending the pictures to the level I wanted. Also rather than cutting Prado's out of Photo's and superimposing them I figured just use exsisting photo's. These shots are taken from the varies trip reports and sofar I have taken one from each State or Territory. If the owners don't want them used or people have some other photo's in mind let me know. I can esily add or subtract them and blur the edges or fade the photo's a bit.

I have done another version of that with just the big photo's (taken out the 3 small corner ones) and faded the pic's a bit. It does look a lot less busy but given that each pic would be more than a square meter it may or may no suite. Another option would be to put around 500 different PPers pics on there at around normal picture size each.

At 1m by 5 this thing is going to be huge, I have set up the drawing package to make it that big however I have no idea on what the printers need. I can supply an Indesign(R) document for them but how good is the resolution printing on vinyl?

I am open to suggestions guys, after all this will be a community banner

The 'busy' comment you make is a good one. in advertising/marketing they say that sometimes an advertisement looses its effectiveness if the graphics/wording is too 'busy' i.e. people can't quickly recognise what is being advertised. look at commonly recognisable company logos, or billboards, or flick through a 4wdAction mag. just something for people to consider when designing.

from past experience the printing company should be able to print any image onto the vinyl; its only limited by the resolution of the image sent to them (typically in any common file type) and to a lesser degree, how smooth the vinyl is.

Sorry guys, took me a while to get to this thread, been uber busy at home and work.
I have knocked up banners for my band and for business's here in Perth before. I will have a smash at it in the morning after nightshift. What I need from Piggy or any of you who know, is the font for the pradopoint.com stickers, always good to keep it the same for the banner, but I will throw in some flair for it.
5m L x 1m H. This shouldnt be problem for printers with dot imagery printing. I will put up a sample and if your happy with it, will upload to my FTP and give you the link Mav. Sound ok ? Great designs so far too guys keep em coming, good to have a few to choose from.
