I got an email as well . Reason i find it strange is that the only time i have used that particular email address is for when i use the Toyota service app. Previously , late last year i did have a very long email chain with Toyota on a different email address , which culminated in them replacing my faulty 2015 model ( under goodwill ) with a 2019 model. I opted out of any class action , by posting an opt out form to the supreme court registrar.

Another email update from Bannister Law saying amongst other things that:
The independent referee found that the DPF System was not designed to work effectively during normal use of the vehicles in the Australian market, and the DPF System was designed with both mechanical and software defects.
and that:
Despite these problems, Toyota continues to market the Hilux as “unbreakable” and the Prado as being “built to take on Australia’s toughest terrain”.

I think Toyota has been scatting on thin ice for awhile with there advertising, I know of one defunct camper manufacturer that has now back in business though under new owners that advertised their caravan could go anywhere the tow vehicle could, a friend purchased one and ended up with the shockers and chassis failing.
He took the company to court and argued that clearly the caravan couldn't go anywhere the car could as the caravan broke and the car didn't. The judge agreed and ordered the company to take back the caravan and refund the full purchase price.
Same could be said for Prado's with faulty injectors and inner gaurd cracks etc.HKB Electronics, manufacturer of the Alternator Voltage Booster, Silver 2008 D4D,Lifted,Underbody protection, Alternator Voltage Booster, Tiger Z winch, Lightforce DL, Air Horns, Tanami Drawers, Drop down fridge slide, Outback cargo barriers, Rotronics dual Battery system, Polaris GPS, HF/UHF/VHF, Radio speaker combiner, Long ranger water tank, Diff breathers, Inverter, Snorkel and others
