Prado turbo issues

Hi all I have a 2012 prado kakadu. I'm having a weird issue with the car throwing a p0299 code. Seems to happen when I'm towing something but also happens when I'm using radar cruise control. I can be driving at 110km at 2000rpm when it all of a sudden goes up to 3000rpm and throws the code. Never seems to happen when not in cruise control. Sometimes it also says on the screen 'check cruise control'
side note- when it says to check cruise control it goes into limp mode with all engine light etc flashing, when it doesn't show this warning it doesn't limp, just revs high. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

None are specific to the radar cruise control issue. Im wondering if there is a common ecu for both radar cruise and turbo. Weird that it only happens when in cruise control or towing

The code set criteria for that DTC is (and I quote the FSM) "The pressure is 55 kPa below the Target Booster Pressure for 40 seconds at an engine speed of 2800 to 4400 rpm"
I'd say it is just coincidence that the code is being set with the cruise control on.
You need to get someone to do some diagnosis if you don't have the tools.

I've found on my auto 2014 GXL that the computers can be in a "pre-fault" condition and, as a result, disengage the overdrive.There are no lights on the dash but as soon as I tell Torque Pro to clear the check engine light it drops back into overdrive again.
