The Toyota pic is rotates a few degrees, but the FJ us capable of well over 35 degrees (looking for a specific pic and will post when I can).....Less if the roof rack is loaded up.

      :?

Nothing is perfectly veticle. The photo has been rotated that is all. Fix the angle and it's almost flat, not the 35 degree plus angle that is shown.

The only photo i could see when i logged in on the work servers is this one, which clearly hasn't been doctored.
As for the toyota brochure - well that speaks for its self doesn't it ?

Im twitching ! cant decide on a new car yet . I really really want a car that wil perform really well off road as on , i have considered the 150, 200, late model 100 and now even thinking a PETROL fj . Really wanted a diesel but im thinking this wagon has less of the electrics and more of the clearance/traction aids i want ?

My head is in 5 different places... Is anyone here holding off on a 150 because of the FJ release ?

I think the FJ is a better value for money true 4WD for the 4wder who doesnt have a big family to fit, and the FJ will depreciate less, especially due to the limited No's coming.

The difference in price of your options will buy you lots of petrol, [and the V6 economy isnt bad for the engine size and torque]

I have mine booked for both VI LPG and a rear LR tank fitment as soon as it arrives, to ensure touring suitability, as well as extractors, exhuats, will do a computer tune on it too, and wait till the TRD supercharger is released.

Having driven both, the FJ felt like a lighter smaler more nimble vehicle, very nice direct steering with feedback, and felt agile and quick, compared to the 150's I have driven, std and modified, petrol and diesel.

The + for 150 is some more seats, some extra "luxuries" but an unusual [for toyota] seating, and driving feel.

The 200 also doesnt have that ""toyota" feel.

We're seriously considering an FJ. We went to see the dealer last week about it. It's a coincidence that they were called out that very day to check out the FJ for themselves. They said there will be one on display in the dealership at the end of the month.

It's a real shame about the 20kg front end limit. It has put me off wanting one now. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this means no steel bullbar and no winch? Also, what's the point of a dual battery tray slot if using it would effectively void warranty?Their website boasts FJ heritage.... that would be misleading...

Just at the service dept yesterday and got talking about the FJ was told that there will be a wait on them as the factory was damaged in the earth quake in Japan . So there are no more on the ships for some time . They told me that a diesel is avail in the US and a manual also so they will probably bring them out here when they see how well these go . All sold out here in Perth , have 1 year left on current lease then will see what they have to offer .
