Part of having internet security is to have a different password for each site/application, not doing so goes against all recommendations from the large financial institutions and big business. I for one have a different password for everything, get one of mine - and you only have access to the one system. this is more a personal security issue than a security issue for PP. The site admin would endevour to maintain a secure site, i am sure, but each individual user is responsible for their own security - protection and variation of all passwords, location of use, security of access point, security updates for PCs, the list goes on.
However, I will agree that HTTPS is more secure than HTTP, but unless financial transactions are included within the web content of a site then I think that it is inherently over-kill...
I'm not an admin or a mod, but i don't think it is fair to say that because now i have to log on to PP, if my PP password gets hacked then it the hacker has my banking password cos they are the same? We cannot hold someone else responsible for our own lack of personal security...
