Spray some silicone spray onto a cloth and wipe over the frontal parts, it will help prevent the bugs from sticking to the duco and plastic. Don't put anything on the windscreen except maybe some rainex.
You could go to FPR or DJR (V8 supercar teams) and get some of the windscreen peel-offs that will probably cost a small fortune.
Just got back from thr desert up near Wiluna. The rain has brought out millions of flying ants. They don't die when they hit the car, they just crawl into every little space and start looking for a spot to build a nest. And the bees, thousands of those too - smacking against the grill and windscreen and depositing a big yellow blob. And when you stop, the red ants come along and crawl all over the car in their quest to collect all the insect debris. Got to love nature.
