Minor as they are, I especially like these updates:
    • Support for Garmin USB GPS receivers [/*:m:34i1gh11]
    • Support for Magellan USB GPS receivers [/*:m:34i1gh11]
    • 10,000 waypoints can be loaded (increased from 1000)[/*:m:34i1gh11]

The Garmin USB support is just what I was hoping for. I imagine Magllan USB users will be just as pleased.

    Cheers,
    LFaR.

Another update released - version 3.95.4s

Updates listed below (copied direct from website)

      Fixes

Fixed some issues with the support for NV Digital Charts.
Fixed issues with gpx files being used with Garmin Mapsource.
      Changes

For Windows Vista the OziExplorer configuration files (and other OziExplorer system files) are placed in a specific folder in the "User" area of C drive. This caused problems when more than one copy of OziExplorer was run on the same computer or when OziExplorer was run from a removable drive. This version will place the configuration files in the "User" area in a folder name based on the OziExplorer installation folder name so the configuration files are kept separate for more than one installation. If OziExplorer is on a removable drive the configuration files are stored in the OziExplorer installation folder on the removable drive. If it is desired to force the configuration files be kept in the OziExplorer installation folder a special file called "AppDataLocal.dat" can be placed in the OziExplorer installation folder, it does not matter what is in the file the presence of the file is the trigger.

        Re: Ozi Explorer update

For those of you running OziExplorerCE on your in-car devices, OziExplorerCE Development Version 2.20d has been released.

Updates listed below (copied direct from website)

        * OziExplorerCE can now rotate the map to "Course Up" when in moving map.
o There is an option on the View menu for "Course Up".
o Direction of travel will be within roughly 45 degrees of vertical as the map is only rotated in 90 degree increments to keep performance reasonable.
o There is a new button available in the screen designer to display a North arrow, it also works as a button to turn "Course Up" off and on.
o New page files (*.par1) have been provided with the North arrow on page 1.
        * To open up the menu for objects (waypoints, route waypoints and track points) you now only have to click on the object. Holding the stylus down on the object for half a second will show the red circle and when released will show details about the object.
        * Map zooming has been improved and is much quicker.
        * A warning will be given if GPS NMEA data is lost and the software will try to reconnect to the GPS.
        * There is now an option in General Settings to turn off automatic map indexing (not recommended however).
o If you do this you must manually index the maps whenever a map is added deleted or modified.
o If you do not manually index new maps will not be found and the software will still attempt to open deleted maps.
o The "Index Maps" option is on the map Menu.
        * The ability to use SRTM height data has been added (this was in version 2.19 but not announced).
o Only SRTM data (SRTM30 (.dem), SRTM3 and SRTM1 (.hgt)) can be used, they must be placed in the "Data File path".
o No other types of height data files can be used.
o There are parameters available in the Screen Designer to display the height data.
        * A bug in the scale display when using the Nautical Miles / Feet units has been fixed.
        * Clear routes command has been added to the screen designer.
        * The OziExplorerCE open file dialog is now used for all platforms not just PocketPC. This means a KB button will now be available on Wince core devices.
        * If the Scale Bar is accidentally dragged off screen it will now be pulled back onto the screen.
        * Help is now provided in one .chm file.
        * OziExplorerCE help engine is now used for all platforms not just for wince devices.

            Re: Ozi Explorer update

Updated - ...............again .............(OziExplorerCE that is)

There may be some fixes to those of you having previous troubles with your SD cards. Updates listed below and copied direct from website

            Development Version 2.22d (November 2008)

            Changes

Fixed problem with map searching only working on the 1st map file path.
The "back" button on the help viewer will now exit back to the map if you are at the top help level.
            Development Version 2.21d (November 2008)

            Changes

Fixed problem with help locking up
Fixed problem with log book images not being created
Fixed problem with map having 1 or 2 rows of pixels missing along the edge of the map.
Fixed problem where map images with international characters would not be found. However you are still required to have your PDA configured to the regional settings for the language being used for the map files.
Map Searching now will also look into the sub-folders of the configured "Map File Paths", this will provide for better organisation of maps into different sub-folders for any of the "Map File Paths".
As an example - it would now possible to set a "Map File Path" to the root of an SD card (\SD Card) and OziExplorerCE will scan the full SD Card for maps. However setting the path to the root of an SD Card is not recommended as map searching performance will suffer as all folders need to be scanned, even those without maps in them.
For best performance "Map File Paths" should contain sub-folders with only maps (and map images) in them.
Setting the "Map File Path" to the root of the PDA (\) will not work, it will be ignored.
Another experiment with opening the context menu for waypoints, route waypoints and track points.
A very quick double click on a waypoint will open the menu
A single click on a waypoint will move the map (same as version 2.19)
Holding the stylus on the waypoint for longer than 1 second will also open the menu (same as version 2.19)
            Fixed other minor problems.

              Re: Ozi Explorer update

Version 1.10 of the Map Merge Utility has been released - details of changes listed below (directly from website)

              Version 1.10

              Changes

              * Much faster than version 1.05 - the speed increase may be a factor of 3 for a single image re-projection to a factor of 50 for for merging many maps.
              * Added bilinear filtering to the re-projection process so the final image will have a smoother look. Bilinear filtering will have no affect if you are doing significant scale reduction on an image, the effective range is 50 to 100% resizing.
              * Added sharpening to reduce the blurring effect of the bilinear filtering.
              * Improved color lookup algorithm (colors in final image may match source images better).
              * Other minor changes.
Black 2008 D4D GX, Bolle tint, Airtec snorkel, Hayman Reese tow bar, Staun deflators, ARB Air, front & rear extended diff breathers, Milford cargo barrier, Poly Air, 2" lift, XGS suspension, road tyres - 265/65x17 Grandtreks, play tyres - 265/70x17 Wrangler MTR's, ARB Sahara Bar, TMax 9000 winch, custom winch panel, Uniden UHF, Garmin 76csx with RAM mount, Eee PC with OZI, triple IPF 900XS spotties, rear ARB diff locker, Brown Davis underbody protection, Darren McRAE Auto Craft Rock Sliders

                Re: Ozi Explorer update

Map Merge has been updated again

                Version 1.11

                Changes

Faster than version 1.10 - the speed increase may be only 25% for a single image re-projection to a factor of 3+ for for merging many maps.
Corrected the calculation of the Mercator pixel scale (thanks to JG for the description of the issue on the user group).
Have rewritten the image reading drivers for ecw and sid images.
Some changes to the bilinear filter.
                Fixed some problems.

                  Re: Ozi Explorer update

Map Merge is updated once more

                  Straight from the website

                  *****
                  Version 1.12

                  Changes

Many internal changes - please report any type of maps which do not merge, send maps to test with if possible.
Faster again than version 1.11 when merging a large number of maps.
Added support for reading ozf2 and ozfx3 maps. It is not necessarily a good idea to merge maps to ozfx3 and then merge the merged ozfx3 maps again, each time you merge maps quality may be lost.
The 2GB limit on the temporary files has been fixed (there is now essentially no limit for these files). However the size of the completed ozfx3 file must be below 4GB.
The previous version did not create the image thumbnails correctly for a couple of image types. If you have any map thumbnails which are just black or corrupted you will need to delete the thumbnails folder (in the System Files folder), the deleted thumbnails will be recreated.

                    Re: Ozi Explorer update

OziCE 3.32 has just been released and now supports the ability to pick up either the timezone settings from the unit or set your own. The downside of this is there is no support for day light savings. I'm going to contact Des and ask him to include that option in the next release.

I also couldn't get my serial code details to stick. I can enter and it accepts them and the demo version goes away but the next time I go back in it demo again. I even dumped the whole Ozi directory and reloaded and still no go so I rolled back to 2.31 and all is well, except the time is out bacuse the unit does not support daylight savings

                      Re: Ozi Explorer update

sounds interesting as on my unit I can't set the date & time which is very annoying in trackfiles. I've always wondered if the sunset/sunrise times offered were remotely accurate if the time was set right.as

Updated my OziCe tonight (from 2.19 to 2.32) but can't seem to figure the time setting out. Seems to be a 'Auto Time' option but that gets the Date correct but the time is 19hrs behind (current time 11:37pm, it's showing 4:37am) so it's getting it's time from somewhere, somewhat right (minutes correct!)

I had to re-enter my code but it's stuck (no need to reenter, not in demo mode), only thing is that it keeps showing me the 'info' screen even though I click 'do not show again'

You can set your time zone on the third tab (I think) of the general Settings. The first tab displays the tick boxes that includes the Auto Update Time option.

Maybe I need to reformat the SD card and try again with 2.32 and see how I go.
