It is very common for sd cards to pack it in.

As suggested, stick it in your PC, do a disc check and then defrag it.

To do the check and defrag, wack it in ya puta, click on Computer, right click on the sd card, a new menu will open, go to properties, tools, error checking & click on "Check Now" when checking is completed, click on "Defragment Now"

It tells you in the manual how to reset.

On the bottom right hand corner of the unit next to the USB port, there is a small hole and the words "RES", with the unit ON, using your screen pointer or a paper clip, put it into the hole and it will reset.

First thing I did when I got my unit was copy the contents of the SD card onto a computer for safekeeping. Also means I can play around with the software and always be able to go back to a "factory" config.

        Wise practice IMHO.

Thanks for all of your help so far. I have just checked the SD card for errors and defragged as suggested. Everything tested ok and all of the files appear to be ok on the card. I do have a backup copy of the files on my computer. I have also reset the unit several times. Unfortunately this has not solved the problem and the GPS will not start up. What I do have is another SD card that is only 128mb so will not fit all of the IGO files on it. What I did do is put some mp3 files on it to see if the unit would recognise the card. The funny thing is when this card is in the unit it will not recognise it. When the sd icon is clicked it says that there is no sd card inserted. This makes me think that the card reader in the unit may be faulty........maybe???

The sd card reader will not play any other file than navigator software.

I suggest that you re format your ds card and reinstall igo8 from your back-up.

Thanks oldsalt. I just reformatted the sd card and reinstalled the back up files as you suggested. There is still no difference. I have a feeling that the sd card may be faulty. I will head out in the morning and pick up a new one and give that a go. Failing that.....who knows. I will keep you posted.

Silly question but it is being put in correctly ?

I broke mine as I put it in upside down... Now I have to put it in and use a bit of a business card to hold it in place..

When you gps it will ask you to calibrate OR run the navi - When that happens it should read teh card and you then have to select the igo8.exe file... If at that stage it does not read the card; then the sd card is faulty or is not in correctly.

It seems to me that there is a program issue with the card supplied with the TPO9X1 as most of the problems in these posts seem to do with the nav side of the unit , has any one with a different version of igo had any problems ? i maybe wrong. On a different note ,a new in dash touring 7000 to fit the 120 model listed on gpsozz site due november listed at -$2799. i think i will stick with the TPO9X1. Hi all,

Well I still haven't solved my Nav problem, it is very frustrating. I went out today and purchased a Toshiba 2GB micro SD card. I then installed all of my backup IG08 files onto it. I then reinserted the sd card into the head unit making sure that it was installed the correct way (actually upside down). Still no change.....Nav program hangs on start. Then performed a reset and still the same. I have no idea what could be wrong. I have sent Digioptions an email. Hopefully it is something simple.

I really don't think there's much wrong with the iGo8 install that originally comes with the TP09X1. You do need to be careful that you don't try and update it with more recent maps or extra voices etc - it might work but it can also very easily go wrong and you'll end up with all sorts of strange issues.

I do note Higgsee that you have kept a copy of your original files so that's probably not the cause of your problems but its something to keep in mind.

Take Oldsalt's advice and read through the forums at gpsunderground. A fantastic source of info on iGo with some excellent instructions and specific instructions for 2DIN PNA devices like the TP09X1. It might be worth a look if you still think its a software and not a hardware problem.

                        hi Mayhem,
                        you can try this..
open the igo folder in your pc. You will see a folder named save. Delete this folder
and then see if it starts.....

I had a problem with mine were the autoroute calculation option wiould uncheck itself for
no apparent reason.I did some reasearch in other forums and that is one guy sugested.

Installed my unit a couple of weeks ago... Very happy but.....

                          Just a question.....

Is anybody having any problems with the touch screen "activating" while your driving?
If I have my unit on radio and its a hotter day then the unit keeps changing to radio station preset 4 (right side top) (worse when you hit a bump on the road)
If I am using the gps it swaps between 3d and 2d view....

Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with the touch screen??

Also is there any master adjustment for the "phone" volume.. I have to turn the volume up quite some way to hear the phone then blows you out of the car when the call ends??

                          Thanks

I had the same issue the other day as well. Sent an email to Matt @ DIG_OPTIONS but it has not repeated.

Radio was cycling through bands - warmish day and had been driving for a few hours. Repeated the next day but not since then. Fingers crossed that there is no recurrence :?

wondering if anyone could help with an issue I am having with the TP09X1.
I installed it and all functions are working great except oziexplorer. I installed OZI as per the instructions on this site but it locks up all the time, and I have to reset. It wont run for more than 1min max before it locks up. Help please.

                              Thanks, Matt.

does Ozi work correctly for that minute? Possibly you are using the wrong version, is it the one for the ARM CPU?
