The wheel is only 10mm further out then you have 10mm of extra width for the tyre, mine are -18 so 7mm further out plus 10mm of extra tyre.Rob

They stick out a little bit, but not much. Nothing a few tech screws and some garden edgeing from Bunnings cant fix.lolsigpic2" King Springs, Ironman Foam Cell Shocks. 17x9 Dick Cepek wheels with 275/70/17 Maxxis Bighorn 762S. I posted this link earlier. It will give you a comparison between two different wheel and tyre setups.
http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp
The stock 17's are 265/65 with an ET25 on a 7.5" wide rim
I think adams 275/70 with an ET-12 on a 9" wide rim
The tyre is 10mm wider (5mm either side) and offset difference is 37mm. This means the edge of the wheel/tyre sticks out 42mm further than stock. A little less if your car has been lifted, which drags the front wheels in a little. My build http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?25816-Mikes-150VX-Yes-it-s-another-silver-Prado

Thanks Adam. I was really struggling to picture how far the wheel protrude, despite having all the figures. A picture's worth a thousand words. It all looks pretty good actually. The tread is still within the body of the car, which means there shouldn't be dirt thrown up the side of the car.

Went to The Maitland 4wd and Camping Show on Friday and picked up some Firestone Air Bags for the 150s Rear End. Have fitted Poly Airs to other people vehicles previously, but the Firestones appear to be a superior product. Will fit up during the week, take some pictures and let you know the results. Also, the Kaymar Rear Bar is being fitted next week. Stay Tuned.sigpic2" King Springs, Ironman Foam Cell Shocks. 17x9 Dick Cepek wheels with 275/70/17 Maxxis Bighorn 762S. Ironman Deluxe Bullbar. I've heard Firestones > Polyairs too - better fittings so they say.
I've had them fitted for errr..., 15 months now and don't have any complaints (touch wood). Certainly improve the ride when empty and fully loaded.NOW FOR SALE!!! - 2004 Silver GXL 3lt 4spd Auto - ARB Bullbar, Safari Snorkel, Redarc Dual Battery System, Cooper ST MAXX, Dark Tint, IPF900XS spots, Raised Bilstein/Kings Suspension/Firestone Airbags, Autosafe Cargo Barrier, Sandgrabbers, Rola Roof Rack Stuff, Insect Screen, Dust/Wind Deflectors, Sheepskin/Black Duck Seatcovers, GME TX3510, ARB underbonnet compressor, Allied Hammer Rims, ARB UVP, AJ Sliders

The difference to me appeared to be the fittings, the thickness/density of the bags themselves, and also the ability for the top fitting to flex and move. You can also by a material wrap for increased strength, but this was an additional $100, but Im not towing anything excessively heavy.sigpic2" King Springs, Ironman Foam Cell Shocks. 17x9 Dick Cepek wheels with 275/70/17 Maxxis Bighorn 762S. Looks good, you did like me in just getting the bar, which provides good rear protection.

Yeah mate, not sure about the look of the wheel carrier, had one on my 120 series , I just dont like the look of the big wheel well left when you move the spare off the door. I have thought of getting a new door skin made, but for now will leave it as is. The other problem I encountered was the small hassle of having to undo two latches before gaining access to the rear door. Drove the missus nuts when she took it shopping. Will wait and see.sigpic2" King Springs, Ironman Foam Cell Shocks. 17x9 Dick Cepek wheels with 275/70/17 Maxxis Bighorn 762S. Ironman Deluxe Bullbar. Lightforce 240 XGT Lights. GME TX3100 UHF. Hey Adam,
Just wondering how your mudflaps turned out. It's probably the only gripe I have with my rear bar(besides taking 5 months to show up). Would much rather see a flat plate facing the wheel than the way it is. At least that way you could fit any style of flap. Also I think the bar could do with more rake to better match the wheel arch. Maybe I'm being picky, but for near 4 1/2 grand it would be nice to see and would really finish the bar off.
Just my opinion.
Cheers,
Dusty
