    • Think Ive blown an idler or tensioner bearing unfortunately, very loud bearing whir coming from the front now.
Not sure what Im going to do to fix that this week?
Better drop into Toyota tomorrow I suppose

      • WD if you are out in the bush (worked on mine) but if in town Toyota is the go. At the end of the day you need those items as spares. The risk of going more than 700mm deep in water.
Muddy water or sometimes pressure washing your vehicle can do it, like it did on our work Hilux. I was pressure washing it the other day because we were putting in a new clutch kit because of a similar thing.

Driving through muddy water had damaged the thrust bearing and the drain hole is not that big. It pays to stop after exiting a water crossing and wait for the water to drain out of the bell-housing. Then it will be ok to change gears.

        • Ive got it booked in with my local guy to get the bearings in the pulleys and tensioner done.
Ill get a new belt while Im at it and keep the old one as a spare since it still looks good.
Castle Hill Toyota managed to piss me right off today by not wanting to even look at it or give me a quote without booking it in and leaving it there for half a day so they could pull it apart before quoting!
          Tossers!

I've got a bad noise- that sounds like power steering, but it's the alternator wining. Changed all tensioners and pulleys, had power steering rebuilt, but none fixed it. Also bought a new fan belt today- $105... Ouch.

I had it done today with the local guys (a two man outfit) Automotive Professionals in Castle Hill and I cant speak more highly of these guys, great service, honest as, dont mess about and do a great job.
I told them to check everything and do whatever was needed and the went through everything and found only one pulley bearing needed replacing and I got them to put a new belt on as well since it was still the original.
Total damage $218!!!!! and shes smooth and quiet as a mouse once more

Top service from those guys, they deserve a free plug, Im happy (for once)

                    • Today AMTS bash plates and diff drop kit arrived.

I have to thank Andrew for the massive effort hes made with these things.
Well designed, well thought out, everything about the plates, the hardware, is first class quality, even the diff drop bushes are powder coated.
Really, this is quality and is a fully marketable product, even has instructions.
                      Mate, well done

Diff drop went in this arvo, yeah, I know, its dirty, Ill to give it a good clean before the plates go on

Plates over the next couple days, they are bloody heavy to do on your own!

Crikey Barry, your up to two greenies already!!!!!

Perhaps when Aaron gets back on he will give you some for the Calendar entry - don't understand why the guy from Radelaide gets them though
