That's cheap. Engine oil and filter is already $40 at best. Not sure what transmission fluid costs.
I'm also not sure how old fluid can be considered "clean and spotless" but then again, I've never seen the fluid from a transmission before.

I do the the car all myself, except for the auto trans which is too much hassle.
Im only talking about the auto transmission service done today mate.
They only take 2 liters of oil so cant be much.
By clean he means no discolouration, fluid looked like new and by spotless he was refering to no debris or metal particles............sweet as

            Hi Barry
After pushing the bounderies of how much to spend, I was looking at maybe and ARB fridge.
After another disappointing experience with ARB (corporate tossers) I walked across the road and bought a new Ironman.
Pretty happy so far, great price, came with heaps of goodies and huge warranty.
Been using it since I got it and its working really well.
Ive got it on battery power at the moment in the garage to see how long it will last but so far Im very happy.

            http://www.ironman4x4.com/pdfs/acces...20Brochure.pdf

Got one of these that I need to rebuild and put new batteries in, which will be doing all the fridge and camping duties.
Go to do the wiring for it yet over the next couple weeks.

            Cheers

Actually, I think the lokka is probably more worthwhile for me at this stage.
                  Hows yours going anyway?
Had a change to use it in anger?

Really happy with it Marc, Only used it once so far but I knew it was there. We are going up to the Mundaring Powerlines track in a couple of weeks and after all the rain we've been having over here it will be pretty muddy so should be a really good test for it

Got one of these coming to keep the Thumper charged and do all the camping and fridge duties from the back of the car.

Decided to go this way to keep it simple and easily removable for the other 9 months of the year I dont need to drag all that weight around.

In case anyone wants to have a better look to see what they are about

                          Cracked Dash Bad News

I just got a call from the dealer and Toyota have refused to do any better than a "good will" gesture of 50% parts only.
They want $1300 to replace the dash
Really cant afford that sort of money but I think for the sake of resale and that I will be keeping it for a while I will have to find it somehow

I spoke to another dealer ( who we bought 2 cars off before) who said he would love to help me but once a claim is put through a dealer it is either accepted or declined.
If you go to another dealer with the same claim it will be rejected automatically.
They wont allow you to shop around

I also rang Toyota Care and they confirmed this, you do not get to have two goes at this.
Once you pick a dealer, you either go with them the full distance or forget the whole thing.

If I had known this I would have chosen a different dealer, I just happened to be at Castle Hill Toyota getting some sump washers and thought Id ask.
That was enough to begin the process.

I would suggest you pick your dealer very carefuly

I have a very big decision to make!

That sucks the big one banana! Its a real pity a company like Toyota who supposedly pride themselves on the quality of their make don't help you out more.
