    Thanks guys.

Still lots to do but at least some good stuff is now done.

8608, do you think I really need upper arms or just put them on the "nice to have" list?
Im still busting for wheels like yours though!

Toyota agreed to "contribute" to half the cost of the new dash, just parts, but that still means they want $1300 to replace it. Not sure about doing it or not.
They have given me five days to think about it!

That has sort of dampened the budget for a bit.

nah, no need for the upper arms unless you want more height and wheel travel. there are other ways around it though.

probably on the "nice to have list" not so much the "need to have" list.

your 120 is looking good, but it sucks about your dash. hope you get it sorted out ok.

Marc. Are you looking at upgrading your IPF's to HID now that you've seen Steves setup? The difference between halogen & HID is "out-of-this-world"!!!
Go on, you know you want to......

                      lol. you guys are funny.

i got an old pic from when i first did the HID conversion with only the 3 on the bar. i use to have the 6000k globe colour, but i didn't like them. i changed to the 4300k which is closer to a white halogen.

there are some wrecks on ebay etc that maybe worth your while looking into for a price for a dash. thats some big bickies and thats half the cost!

I may convert them, Im not sure yet.
Ive converted the high/low beams and the PIAA spots on my bike to HID (220 watts of HID on the bike is very impressive!) and I got to say that the delay time bugs me, flashing is a non event and they take upwards of about 8 seconds to warm up when cold.
As Steve says 4300k is the colour to go for and thats whats on the bike too and I wouldnt use any other colour for the car either but I find the delay annoying.
If your doing a lot of distance (HID time on) with them on theyre brilliant, if you use them very intermitently, I find them a pain.
                          But thats just me!

Very impressive Marc. I have the slimline conversion kits in the back of my IPF's (55W 5000k) and am very happy with the result. The eight or so seconds for the lamps to fire up is fine. What is a annoying is if you are driving on open road and a vehicle comes into view a long distance away (a couple of Klms), because the lights are so bright, you need to dip your HID's straight away and you are then having to drive a considerably longer distance with low beam and limited visibility. Of course adjusting your speed to an appropriate level to match the amount of road you can see in front of you is always necessary. I have found that going from High beam with Driving lights to H/B no Driving lights to low beam helps. with regards to temperature of lights, I found this online

                            For 55Watt HID System
4300K: Light appears fairly white with a slight yellowish hue. It has the best performance at around 5000lm output power
5000k: Light appears pure white. Very small amount of power lost at around 4800lm output power
6000k: Light appears pure white with a very slight blue hue. Very small amount of power lost at around 4600lm output power
8000k: Light appears pure white with a noticeable blue hue. At around 4350lm power output still 4 x brighter than stock halogen bulbs
Go any higher than 8000k and you start to lose too much light and the light changes to a more purple colour. Its more for show vehicles than light performance

Seems to be a lot of varying definitions around but I would suggest that whats defined above as 8k here should really be 6k.
These definitions seem to be very brand dependant also.
Even 6k is too blueish for my liking.
4300 to 5000k is what I like and think is ideal. IMHO!

Got the transmission serviced today, flush, oil and filter, $120, took him an hour.
Got to be happy with that.

He said the fluid was clean and spotless, in perfect nick for 100k, untouched.
He added, these 4 speed boxes are one the best ever and hes never seen one fail, unlike the 5 speed, gave me a warm fuzzy feeling it did

                                just stirrin
