Hey Marc, according to a recent 4wd Action DVD the best thing to use to protect your cut out holes from corrosion is to use nail polish. Pink works best.
Looking forward to a great day tinkering with your snorkel and my new winch rope and hawse tomorrow. Nothing better than a workshop day.
Cheers,

Marc has heaps of pink. He wears it when driving his mo-ped. :PBitumen: A blatant waste of taxpayers money!

I couldnt wait so came home a bit early and started about 2 oclock and figured Ill take my time.

Put her up on a stand took the wheel off, inner guard and masked the shit out of it!

Marked it all up and went for it

Unfortunately the masking tape was really old and the glue went to mush and took me ages to clean since half was left on the car

Only made 12mm holes (not the 16 recommended) as suggested by Trekrider, more than enough if you accurately mark things out and pre-drill.
Finally cleaned it up , debbured inside and out with Dremel and deburring tool, cleaned up with some prepsol and painted with a touch up pen.
Bought Sikaflex to do the job with, man, that stuff sucks arse, messy horrible stuff to work with, worse than moly graphite grease, think Ill stick with sensor safe silicon next time!

Nearly there

Bought 11 new inner guard clips thinking Id have heaps left over, no way, used them all, only got two out without destroying them.Last edited by 1coolbanana; 28-10-2011, 07:13 PM.Marc, 2003 Grande V6, Just a Bit of Stuff Done.....
