Sweet news Case. Reminds me of a story with my old man who owns a 100 series Sahara. He was always loading in 1 CD at the time until I was cleaning his car for him (a bit of a nice gesture of me) and I told him he had a stacker hidden under his front seat! He was stoked and surprised, considering he had already owned the car for about 6 years!

There was a guy on a perth forum here, who after buying a car, while changing the oils throughout the car, wondered what the blue lines coming out of the diffs were.. Thought they were breathers, until they followed them.. The previous owner had removed the compressor, but left the air lockers!

So Case, with the nomad shifter, did you test drive any other prados, does it feel different?

i tested a diesel with the 4 speed and i remember it was crap but that might have been partly the engine
and a mate has a v6 5 speed auto and it takes forever to shift when you give it a boot full. Myn has kicked down by the time you have your foot on the floor smoother changes than hers also.

Dual battery system is in (with a supercheap battery for a Kia sportage)

Hilux washer jets are in today and made a false floor so I could put fridge hitch points exactly were I want them

The car has been wallowing around. So I think I need to put new springs into the front

The prado now bostes a new fan belt
the easiest fan belt i have aver changed :-)

And going to book the car in to dobinsens in rocky for a February instal of the new front springs and struts considering the front has more or less been riding on the bump stops science the bull bar went on :-(

My boss also gave me an old alloy basket for my car so i been modifying it to fit the tent and go on the prado

Well its been a while but its all been happening at my end,
did 50 000km in the first 12 months of owning the car. (considering i live at my job and only drive the car for my own enjoyment that seems like a lot.)
so its ticked over 200 000 km time for some scheduled maintenance.
My rear airbags(suspension) got a leek in the bag so after 30 min of the car being switched off it was sitting on the rear bump stops.
Convinced the local TJM in Mackay to do a airbag man upgrade for me. Unbelievable difference, not a bad price either.

Unfortunately My center diff lock is not working at the moment. have to send it to an auto electrician.

Case the centre diff could just be the connector going into the transfer case itself, it gets shit in their and doesn't light up but the centre diff lock still actually works, their is a thread on this.

Thanks Hutch, I've searched the crap out of this with no luck
the light will flash and thats it, (Used to come on and stay on plus the "VSC off" light)
                      it isn't engaging at all,
and because the Vehicle stability control won't turn off i am not game to take the car on sand.

I have been under there a few times so i will change the transfer oil and then probably take it in,

                        Right guy's
since i have last been on i have had heaps happen,
firstly i now have a new long term partner. i have been made redundent at my job as a dairy farmer, mainly because of Coles and Woolworth's. and have moved the 1000km to the gold coast. moved all my gear.

                        Now for the bad things,
my partner accidentally hit a tree in my car, bent the TJM bulbar, selected D instead of R, i just laughed and said remember how i shrugged it off when i do something to your car, :-)
Sold my rooftop tent:-( decided it wouldn't be practical to have without a tall garage (tractor shed like I'm used to)

anyway i have finely remembered my password for this site (thank GOD).

So now i am looking for places to go in South East Qld.

looking forward to being a bit more active in the site

                            Hey Crew,
After finding some work lately I'm back on track, My mother borrowed the Prado for a few weeks and I received a few phone calls and had to send RACQ out to the car twice, got it home replaced the starter motor, all good again. Replaced both front wheel bearings last week. My partner bought me 2 new batteries for it as a surprise. Then out for a leisurely sunday drive, we all know the ones not in a hurry, windows down, sunroof open. A bit of good music and good company. Stop at a red light. Then BAM commodore to the ass.

HMMM. Took it too the repair shop that RACQ told me too, and the quote is between 10 and 20 Grand. This is because the commodore has gone under and hit the fuel tank, the tyre cover has been damaged, parking censers scratched the back door and to top it off pearl paint is expensive to fix, match and blend

So now I have to find a way to get around for the 1 to 2 weeks the car will be in the shop for.
                            the joys...

Bad luck on the fender bender Case. Might be an opportunity to negotiate with the insurance company for a rear wheel carrier! Might save them the expense next time some moron wants to argue with a Prado!!

Hi case, sorry to hear of your bad luck with the commodore. What did you think of the dobinson spring set up. I am looking at fitting them in rocky to. I also have an 04 Gxl petrol?
