• Hi Mitch, like many others have been watching your thread with great interest and love what you have done with MUMSRIG. My only reservation is your last mod. Air Bags deploy at a very scary rate ie, bloody fast. I would suggest Tam wear a full face helmet and maybe some upper body protection just in case. Your theory is good, but!!

Anyway have a great trip, am very jealous. Circumstances have prevented us from doing much traveling of late, am looking forward to your trip reports.

Yeah Geoff, you are correct mate... After making it and fitting it up etc even with the object of it to only be used when offroad... I dont really like the idea either. The idea was scrapped pretty soon after the instal. It didn't even set foot on the road with it Looking at other ideas now...

                    • I've grabbed my dads laptop tonight, so I'll post up a little info..

This was our first stop. Kalgoorlie to visit Tam's mum and sisters and our nephews and nieces... Whilst there Darryl was ready and waiting and we got stuck into building a rear table for MUMSRIG...

Only took a couple of hours from go to woa.. Came up a treat to and has been used to great effect on our trip thus far mainly for changing Mason's backside

I purchased some fixings from BCF as we left Perth after Darryl sent a message saying that we were going to be doing the table... Who am I to argue!

                      Blank canvas.

                      Mock up.

                      • I also fitted the high lift jack the night before we left, after picking up the modified spare wheel mount.

I wanted the table to sit flush against the door so that it looked neater and so the draw didn't foul against it when it was opened.

                        • Test fit time!

The humps allow the hinges to sit flush.

I then fitted up the fixings to hold the table in position.

Time to cover.. Same material as we used for the drawers. We also chamfered the ends of the table.

                          • We stapled the strap across the face of the table using one length of strapping so it is alot stronger than tacking a couple of pieces on at the ends.

                            Finished product.

                            And outside inthe dark....
