  • We stapled the strap across the face of the table using one length of strapping so it is alot stronger than tacking a couple of pieces on at the ends.

    Finished product.

    And outside inthe dark....

I thought that would be a problem for us, but it fits perfectly. The handles on the fridge only just touch ever so slightly... Hence another reason to fit it as flush as possible..

My problem is that I made the drawer fronts fill the whole width so it just touches the inside of the back door as it opens. I could modify them but would then have to re-cover them.

        • You put the rest of us to shame Mitch. Not only are you on a cross-country trip, you also manage time to fit in doing some mods, and you take pics, AND you manage to post it up on Pradopoint... Someone give this man an award (or a least a beer!)

Ahhhhh... thats one of the reasons we chamfered the edge of the table and recessed the hinges with the chamfered hinge mounts... I have done the same with the draw on our system, but must have a fraction more room than you... It only just touches the table when the draw is opened..

Where there is a will there is a way...

            • SO.... We made it back from our little trip... Had a couple of little dramas but nothing that caused us any major grief. We did just a smidge under 11000 klm's in exactly 1 month.

Tagged an emu on the old Stock Route 15 track out the Kingoonya and caught it on video.

Had a slow leak in one of the camper trailer tyres.

The stainless UHF aerial snapped off above the little coil/spring section after all of the corrugations in SA.

Bent my, nice new but very dirty, IRONMAN high lift jack like a banana dropping off a sand drift on Stockton Beach. IRONMAN replaced it without question, even though I told them it was my fault!

The Air Conditioning belt decided to depart company and tear itself into several pieces, however I was prepared for it and had a new one on board.

And then on the way home overtaking a Triple on a big hill the EGT temps got up a fair bit and the little blue light on the ChipIt EGT came on so I backed off instead of monstering past the second triple and took it easy so the temps settled down. We ended up finding that MUMSRIG started using a heap more fuel and was blowing a bit of black out the rear under acceleration. Upon inspection in the dark under the bonnet I found that the intercooler had somehow become de-attached from it's mounts and that the hose joing the throttle body was just sitting on top and wasn't secure.
The next day I replaced the two rubber mounts as they were chewed up a bit and also put a section of black silicon hose on the throttle body with some heavy duty clamps. Cleaned everything thoroughly and was about to mount it all back up when I found that the boost line to the waste gate was split. AHHH HUH, there was the source of the problem. It would have overboosted causing too much pressure in the intercooler which inturn has pushed the intercooler upward!! A new bit of boost line and the purchase of a boost gauge should sort that issue out! All installed and back on the road. Lost a day in Kal on the way home, but that was fine as the Inlaws got to see the kids for an extra night and I got an extra day off work LOL

Welcome back. My friend Sonny from China has missed you. You know, the guy with the wife that works for Microsoft. He was asking after your credit card, I mean you and I told him you have been away, he mumbled something about being maxed out, some swear words and hung up. Anyway, I take it he just missed you too

                            • Between you and your mate Darryl... Have you looked at upgrading the speakers in the doors?
I am considering it, but would prefer it if you guys did it first...

                              • not too hard to do. i've changed out the speakers in the front and rear doors. makes a big difference if you've changed the headunit from std.
