  • Brogers,

I've got the drawers in the back of mine and that access is under the side wings. We never used the cavity for anything so for me was a good spot to put the fuse box etc.

Ah, ha, I knew there would be a good reason for using the top compartmet for the plugs and wiring, but anyway, for those who still have access to the bottom compartment...another option to consider perhaps,....its all about having options and alternatives I guess,a s we all have different configurations...well done

And if you haven't bought that rear LED for the door, Springers at Lawnton have them for about $47

        • I'll get right onto it good sir...thankyou.

I have put in LED replacement bulbs throughout (except for the vanity bulbs.... bright white LEDs in those vanity lights would blind you, so the warm white original bulbs remain, and boy do they look yellow compared to the LEDs), I got them through the LED LAD and he was great to deal with, sure I paid a bit more but I didn't know what bulbs to get and he just sent me a kit to suit the 150 with the lot, although I have since installed a big LED "array" type bulb in the cargo area light fitting and that lights the back up really well, but I will still mount a strip LED on the rear door. Now I need a shade for the rear of the car, as we found out yesterday with the showery rain, it would have been handy to have a rear shade to keep the back area dry. Anyway,a strip LED for the rear door will be next Springers here I come .....straight after the suspension (incl lift) on Friday, and new tyres next fortnight...

Paul. I like your idea of the rear door LED strip light too!! All I could find on the Springers website was:

                http://www.springers.com.au/product.asp?SKU=1380

But it's @88 so I think not. Maybe they are out of stock....I'll keep looking as I don't live too far away. Thanks for the heads up!

I have installed bright white LEDs, (or whatever they call them), and I like that as they are really white and bright. Some people seem to like the warm white, but personally, the ones I saw anyway, were not bright enough for me... its personal choice, but I certainly like the bright white LEDs, and if you replace the light bulbs at the inside bottom of the doors (I don't know what you call them, a courtesy light or a step light, you know, the ones that come on when you open the door and illumiates the step and helps your car door to be seen at night), you definately should replace them with the bright white version of LED bulb in my opinion, as they are so much brighter and you can see more...but anyway, thats my thoughts for anyone who is interested. I like Bright White interior LEDs for sure.

Also did you need to disconnect the wiring on the 4WD selector panel once you pulled it out? From a later pic it would appear you did but can you get away with just leaving it dangling?

Got one Brains, and I've now installed my new LED bar light above the rear door and it lights up the trektable nicely. I ended up getting the 30cm long version of the one you got. Its not on the Springers website, and it was around $25 or thereabouts, and you press the on button once for a dimmed light, and again for a brighter light....its perfect and lights up the rear area and Trektable perfectly. Thanks Brains. A very useful modification.

You can disconnect it Fido, Its just a plug. Pretty straight forward really.
When I was installing my UHF with VZ we had everything out except the SatNav Unit.
They all just plug in, even the dual climate control.

                          Bracket is from www.holdmyphone.com.au
That have a number of mounting options. I have 3 of them now and two headrest mounts.

And what Jeffers said unplug it and get it out the way.

OK, I was just a bit concerned about losing track of all the wiring. I guess I could always put labels on them with the Dymo if it looks like they might get mixed up.

                            • Fido the plugs are different / colour coded so I don't think you will have a problem. Take some photos if you are worried.
