Is this the only bit you had to buy?
You can't get plugs mixed up as they only go into their own and they are different.

And I have that mount you put the link up for plus the right side centre and the dash board far right (if that makes sense)

    • Thanks Brains for this very helpfull and interesting thread. I have searched and searched but cannot find details of how to replace the map lights with LED's. Brogers asked the question in another post but it was never answered. Anyone able to help?

        Wayne,

From memory you grab the back and pull down on the map light/sunglasses assembly and there are clips holding it up there.

          Hi Wayne.
With mine I just got a very small screwdriver and levered the lens off the map lights. You shouldn't need a lot of force as mine popped ou quite easily.

          • If you use a small blade screwdriver (the toyota service manual recommends covering the tip of the screwdriver with "tape" to protect the lens from the metal screwdriver, but if you are careful you won't scratch anything). Insert the tip of the screwdriver between the grey plastic light surround and the actual white lens, and you can carefully pop out only the lens. This is how you remove the lens to access the bulbs of all the internal lights basically. Make sure they have cooled off, and you have the lights turned off, else the bulbs are quite hot to touch. Once yuo have removed the two lens from the front map lights, the actual bulbs are a little tricky to actually grip and remove as they are recessed a bit and hard to hold, ( and I guess you could fashion a bulb remover from something that didn't break the glass bulb), but I found with careful prising and very gentle rocking I could extract the bulbs without breaking them. The courtesy (side step illumination) bulbs in the dors are a little different. From memopry I popped off the lower, outer corner of the door trim, put my hand in and popped out the lens by pressing from inside the door, and then if you look at the bulb it is sitting in a plastic bulb "carrier", which you can remove by careful observation, and gentle force, I can't describe exactly how, as it has little clips and a small hinge type mechanism, but you can squeeze the clips and unpop the hinge type mechanism and work it out in the warm, clear light of day, and hopefully not bust the bulb or the lens. I replaced the rear, centre and front roof-lining mounted bulbs (except the "makeup" light bulbs behind the sun visor), and I replaced the door courtesy bulbs as well, and I am very happy with the result. You definately do not have to remove the whole light assemblies from the roof lining, just the white plastic lens. Nice, white, cool, low wattage, brighter light...I like it. I got my LED bulbs from the "LED lad", but only because he had packaged them all up for the 150 and posted the lot. To easy.

            • Are you changing to the Federal tyres soon?
I'm needing to start looking at new tyres for my 120 but didn't realise the Federal MT's 20% road... do your Patrol mates with them do a lot of h/way driving or are they play trucks?
              Cheers, Leon

Just had my Kaymar bar installed, once the wheel carriers are on I'll be getting the rims powder coated and fitted.
Patrol is daily driver for his wife so bit of both. They seem to be wearing well.

Rig went in before I even had a chance to take the towbar off. It will have two wheels on soon.
