Been like Christmas, all my extra recovery gear has arrived and got to open another package that arrived while I was away.....

Also. Had some dramas with the order on my pioneer platform, had heard about arb doing an awning deal. So decided to pop in to ARB and walked out with a booking for Thursday to get my new arb delux steel roof rack fitted! Also as per their deal, I had a choice of which awning I would like, so took the 2.5x2.5 awning! What a saving!

When I put the word out about the group buy that pp was doing on my local 4x4 page. a lot of the local lads were keen on seeing if I could try and do a local group buy. So I put a call out to our local op lock and got a group buy price for 20 winches. Then did all the organising/ negotiating and then culminated all the names for the buy. The 20 just arrived today and when I went to pick up mine they offered me the option of the limited edition one as thanks for putting it all together. I was always more keen on a black one so of course jumped at it

Fair enough, it would be my choice. My winch is nicely hidden away in the TJM bar but this would be even more stealthy.

New winch is fully installed.

But have decided that I will be installing a mine spec isolator to be able to stop to lock out the winch when I'm not actually 4wd/ camping. Don't like the idea of it being able to be activated just by someone plugging in a wired remote.

If you want to keep it simple one of these is all you need :-

No switches to wire up, just twist to isolate and close the bonnet.

Wow! That's bloody simple.... Yea mine is simple but bloody exy! The mine spec isolator was $111 and the bloody bracket for it was $75! Then had them cut and re crip the main batt feed wire for the winch so I had the two halves for the isolator

Holy guacamole Batman! Was it gold plated? Must be something to do with the fact it says "mine spec", it's like the 3M branded Post It Notes.

Yea I dare say that fido, nearly fell over when they gave me the invoice! But they are rated to 1000a constant supply. I wanted to buy the actual lockout kit for it, (which is just a small plate and a new finger switch with a hole in it to put a padlock through....... That was another $65 bucks! Said no thanks

That's crazy! I am just running a 500a constant key type isolator. One thing I loved about the 11XP was the low current draw so I figured I should be safe. Fingers crossed!

Yea it would be interesting to see if yours holds up.

Well the big girl went into arb first thing this morning to get the new roof rack fitted



Didn't stay like that for long tho had to fit my free awning and my TraxRax
