Ah, so that's how the rear passenger side bolts up. I've got the driver's side done but ran out of time for the passenger's side.

      Electric Brake Controller Install

Had to install an electric brake controller for the recent acquisition in November last year.
After trolling through threads hear & on My Swag decided on the Tekonsha P3 Electronic Brake Controller.
Had looked at all the options as to where to install & decided below the cigarette lighter was for me.

Due to the fact it stuckout a bit to much I cut a hole behind it to recess it back a little.
The instructions were easy to follow so ran a single wire to the trailer plug down the passenger side wire tray 6mm double insulated for the blue wire. As found on here the loom to connect to was were the jack sits, so connect to the blue wire.
To get power to activate the brakes I didn't want to take the easy option so searched again on PP to find this
      http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...-controller-to
Power for activator found. The rest was easy with an auto reset 20amp circuit breaker as well from power source.
All in all very happy with the unit. Haven't adjusted the factory settings at all, just did manual test at 40km and you can feel the camper brakes pull the car & camper up.

      Regards Adam

They are easy to install, infact much easier than those non self installing AMTS bash plates.

Changing from Hella 4000 with ebay HID kit to Hella Predator iX High Boost XGD

Well after not winning the Lightforce HID's and Andrew (AJ120) saying"Aaaawwwwwwwwwww my heart bleeds for you NOT. Do another 5 minutes overtime and at your pay rate you can buy us all a set" well I did. (AJ your sets in the mail)

Was at the Caravan and Camping Show and they were doing a "special price" so I thought I'd order one for between the old Hella 4000's.

Well whilst having to do a couple of extra weeks before the GTG I was thinking that 1 new XGD would look a little crappy between 2 old ones, so rang the guy up and ordered a couple more.
They are supplied complete with wiring loom but no switch so I ordered some custom rockers in green.

I installed them so I can switch the centre one off if needed.
Also had to drill a couple of new holes in the bar as they are wider and deeper in size but fitted well.

Well they do look cool and they are very F%&* bright but you do have to ask yourself was it worth the cost difference between genuine HID designed lights and aftermarket kits.

Well now I've had both the $1000+ price difference proberbly isnt justifiable. (PLEASE don't tell my WIFE)

          Regards Adam

            Diff locker and Snorkle install

Well before the 2012SAGTG the car went down to ARB Regency for some extra goodies.
Well due to the fact Mum dropped the car down and picked it back up(dam her, she wouldn't pay the bill) there isn' any install pictures.

Diff locker was installed in the rear, why you ask well I quote "Rear first, end of discussion!"

The magic switch on the dash(to be honest don't even know what it's connected to)

The Snorkle, not to sure that I would have been able to drill through the car, and had I F%^&$# it up well I would have never heard the end of it. I must say (I'm assuming this is normal) the sound is alot different.

Well someone has to support the sponsers of the GTG and I just wanted to do my little bit.(was I trying to justify my excessive mod expenditure.......)

Nice work on those huge lights Adam. You might need a snorkel for the radiator now - certainly limits how much of the front grill you can see!!
              Cheers

                        New Engel Tilt Fridge Slide

Well after a couple of weekends away on my last swing off, SWMBO authorized the purchase of another fridge slide in preperation for the Kimberley I'm doing this year.

With already having a Platinum "Drop Down Slide" in the back there was a little problem. Due to the width of that slide it was already over the "half way point" of area available in the back(or else I'd lose access to the side pocket). The other issue was a normal slide only slides out and doesn't really make it much easier.

Well whilst at the camping show in October last year I saw that Engel were in the development stage of a "Tilt" slide. I was interested but not yet available, then at the 2012GTG saw Daniel's aka "Gramps" tilt slide and must say I liked it.

Well at the Caravan and Camping show in Febuary Engel had them on sale through Challange Campers for $325.

It looked the goods and was going to fit in the limited space, so one was purchased.

I must say that its a lot lighter than the drop down slide and also nearly half the price but also half the engineering.

                        Regards Adam

Install of an extra Auxillary Battery

Well due to now running an extra fridge in the back I thought I should install an additional auxillary battery under the bonnet. I already had a battery behind the drivers side headlight so the only spot left was the passenger firewall.

Off to ARB for a battery tray and the process began. Due to having the new ARB tray I also decided to replaced my old solenoid with a Redarc SBI12 due to its ease of just bolting onto the side of the ARB tray.

Whilst I was at it I thought I would also do a little tidy up on the starter battery, so I replaced the terminals and moved my circuit breaker as well.

Now I can have 2 fridges full of beer.......whoooo

                            50L Flexitank

I decided I needed to carry some water onboard incase the unthinkable should happen.........run out of beer.

I ordered a PW50H 50L Universal/dual cab Toyota HiLux (hanging behind the back seat) from www.flexitank.com.au/subproducts/4x4.html

I then after installing it decided to add an inline water pump with a squirty nozzel to wash the kids down before returning to the car.

To be honest I don't reckon I'd get the full 50L but proberly 30-40L depending of the angle of the back seats, but hey better than nothing.

                              Foxwing Poles

I have always had a dilemma with the Foxwing as to where to put the poles. Sometimes I leave them in the camper sometimes tied to the roof. Alot of the times I just forget them and leave them at home.

Well when packing it up one day I looked at how the poles a held in place and wondered if I could get 2 of the clip in things with the rubber strap to hold the poles secure. So rang Oztents spare parts and the deal was done, 2 thingimy whatsits on there way.

All i did was pop rivit them to the cargo barrier and now I'll never leave my poles at home again

Good thing you bought the slide from Challenge. At the same show, Engel were selling them for $450. Does the piston make it easy to tilt the slide back to level? If I finish these reno's I'll probably change to one of these slides.

BTW, the Solar Screen gets the thumbs up.
