  • What width is the light bar Matt ?

    Comment

    • The width is 20 inches. I'm thinking if drilling the LHS wing of the bullbar and fitting the Ariel there, like I did with my 120.

Got a link to LED bar? I am looking for something half decent without having to sell a kidney (or kid).

I'm also looking at relocating aerial to same spot - I did that for BIL's Colorado CB install as he had a crappy bolt on bracket and he preferred that spot when I suggested (based on 120's).

Just be mindful of the exact position you drill, as is was a PITA to tighten the bolt from under his bullbar - got there in the end but PITA nonetheless. I think the 150 ARB's have a little extra room to manoeuvre compared to OEM Colorado.

          • Mine is also from Sunyee (22" or 23" though). Great seller and product seems to be good quality.

            • Been shagging about working out how to remount the two way aerial in the bar. Samo has set me on the right path and I'm making a bracket tomorrow. Just covered the Gensis HID Lights with cardboard, ready to go out tonight and set the angles up correctly on my little light bar.

I noticed the same lightbar being reviewed in issue 210 of four wheel drive action. Some other bloke is selling them for just on $200. I bought mine if old mate Sunyee on eBay for $129. So far I haven't had any copper issues and it's working well as a solid spread light.

              • Matt, could you tell me how high the light is from where it mounts to the top of the light (including the mounting brackets on the light) not the actual tabs on your bulbar...Cheers Steve

                  • The lightbar is awesome and the best money u reckon I have spent so far, apart from the exhaust. Bang for ya buck at $129 it's a cracker. Been using the scangauge to test the horsepower outputs and the exhaust temp gauge to give me feedback using different fine tune settings on my Steinbauer module. After trying a heap of different settings, my Prado performs the best and maintains the best exhaust temp readings with the fine tune set on about one o'clock.

It's off to the dealer in the morning for its 40k service. At $210 you have to love fixed price services...

                          • Mate my engineer told me as long as it not a live 1200mm off the road (top of lightbar) and you can see past it as a point down the road (the old supercharger type test) it's fine and the cops can jam it...

Is there enough slack in the coax for when the antenna bends right over?

Should be right Steve, I have mine on the roof rack and been pulled into RBT's with HWP and they didn't seem too fussed. I am in the country however these RBT's were in sydney. I think if you use them sensibly it should be OK, especially on the bullbar!
