Hey Matt I saw you got rid of your steinbauer to get a custom tune or something else will be keen to hear your thoughts and experience and also where you got it done at as I am not far from you.

      • What a fun day. Took an annual leave day to travel to Newcastle (300km return) to change out these apparently 'buggered' steering rack ends. My mechanic in newcastle rings me, what's the reason you want these changed man ? They are in perfect working order with zero wear at 83,000km. Useless beaurepairs at my home town rambled on about how they were worn out and trusted Toyota dealership near the town I work in, dribbled the same rubbish ? My mechanic actually showed me the test him and his apprentice carried out and yes, zero wear. So I punted the prado for a wheel alignment and it was also out hardley at all, with only a minor camber adjustment required. So luckily the place i purchased the new rackends from accepted my story and will refund me. My mechanic didn't charge me a cent and the wheel alignment place was very reasonable price and fast.

So yes, dealerships are full of clowns and don't just trust the first wheel alignment place that carries on. For anyone local to Newcastle, see Matt at Nova Auto Inavations for any mechanical work. He's damn cheap and very honest. Highly recommended.

        • Hey Matt,

Its hard to find a good mechanic any chance you want to give him a plug ;-) Need to find a new one after punting toyota. Preferably diesel or 4wd specialist.

          Regards
          Ryan

not sure about the diesel specialist stuff, but read my above post for a good all round mechanics detail.

              • Got new Baja ATZ p3 265/70x17 today. Car is much nicer to drive, smoother on the open road and has dropped 130rpm @ 110km/h. Have reset scangauge speedo to be true against GPS. Speedo in car now pretty well spot on with larger tyre. Much smoother between all the ratios in the six speed. Bloody 150's should come stock with 70's.

                  Hi Matt,

Fitted exactly the same tyres on my 150 this morning after 83k on MTZ's. Certainly quieter and smoother .

Yep, they went for a paid user base, and crashed millions and millions of websites like this in the process.. There is a way to go in and manually add the link, but its tedious.. But is do-able. You can also link the pics and upload to the PP server which wont have any issues with display.
