The Steinbauer is 110% reliable. Basically set and forget process that never intrudes on any starting function and makes the Prado nicer to drive and tow with in general.

Started my led light in the awning job this arvo. Just waiting for some little connectors off the postman and I shall wire it up to the fuse box in the back, thru a switch.

Don't worry Steve.. Once I wire up this light, I'm setting one up inside my rear door to come on with the interior lights on the door switch.

Led light in the awning

Had a decent run this arvo on the light for the awning. I followed a install guide I found in Pradopoint from a few months ago. Tomorrow I need to hard wire everything to the switch inside the cargo area. The wiring up behind the tail light was 'fun' to say the bloody least... I have set it up, so you just click the Deutsch connector together when you need power to the awning, when its not being used you just tuck it away. This saves having to drill into the frame of the awning and eliminates any chance of water getting into the awning.

Any chance of some info and a couple of pics on how you mounted the awning on the wind cheetah? Am planning on one of those racks next month, and my only concern at the moment is how to mount the awning on it.

Matt can probably answer for certain, but I think Rhino Racks make a bracket that bolts underneath the Windcheetah rack for the awnings which allow for the lip on the underside. Perhaps something like this http://www.rhinorack.com.au/AccSubCa...it_387_62.aspx

No great mystery with the brackets, I just made my own.
