Driving around the other day i had a thought that i might trim the roof and pillars in black suede.. Seeing as though the top of the dash and doors is black i might make it all black above!

Hi Jhiace, great build up. Love the idea to cover the wood grain trim with the carbon fibre look and the rear work lights. Your use of the metal frame and plastic joiners - brilliant! Can I ask, did the metal tubing come in pre cut lengths and can you remember the measurements? I'd like to have a go at replicating what you've done. Fantastic work.

BlackGXL - there was a part number that you need to order, have a quick search on here for "Hilux washer jet" and in that threat it will give you the part number to order from toyota, very good mod to do.

Roksy18 - Thanks mate. I really really hate wood grain so the sooner i could get rid of it the better! The drawers are my favourite part by far! The aluminium tubing is 25 X 25mm aluminium from Bunnings, the connectors are also from Bunnings and are designed to fit that size tube. It makes for a super strong but very very light frame, meaning once you put ply and things in your drawers its about half the weight of something with a timber/steel frame!

The aluminium was bought in 3.6m lenghts (i think) and then i cut it down from there with a trusty hacksaw!

I don't think i kept any sizes or plans BUT if you need to know any sizes or any other details to try and replicate just ask and i'll do my best!

I have orders 5m of black suede to do all the pillars and roof lining in..

I have also decided to buy a bull bar, which i said i wouldn't do but they just offer too much protection and offer a better approach angel and more mounting options. I have decided on either the ARB deluxe bar colour coded OR the Ironman Protector bar colour coded..
