  • Mate, All good ,Yes I have done a bit. I have added a extra oil cooler and a K&N oil filter (Extra) equiv to a Z9. Added gauges ie Trans temp and engine oil pressure, engine oil temp as I like to see something going wrong before it actually happens .Also a 460 Racor fuel filter 10micron with a water bowl as the OE is 2 micron. I change them at 20k now every 40K including the fuel tank . I have fitted a catch can and also a bypass engine oil filter system having moved the engine oil filter to the chassis and it is well protected .A Piranha duel battery system and added extra outlets in the rear for whatever the need .I'm slowly changing my exhaust to 3" with a high flow exhaust only , added 275x65x17 tyres, a GME remote head UHF radio, a caravan braking system a T some thing or rather, Haymen Reese tow bar I can actually see the ball when reversing . My dreams were a long range tank a better suspension as the rocking bugs me at times . but I'm still working towards a snorkel .
Mate thank you for serving .It does not matter in what role we play as we all work together for one goal and that is for this beautiful and great country to be able to do what we do with peace and freedom but we need to look after it and not take it for granted because we will not realize what we had until we have lost it. Cheers Mate God bless Foxy PS I will be following you from now on

    • Foxy, Mate would be keen to learn and see more. I think a rig build with photo's would be great. But your mods sound great. Thank you for the kind words.

Geoffury and Mjrandom, Thanks guys. Went to Opposite lock and they had a look and confirmed they were wrong and will replace them next week. I would like to say thank you very much for seeing this and pointing it out. It could have been a bad out come if you guys had not noticed. Good out come for all.

        • Dr Geoff is the one with the good eyes. I just confirmed his diagnosis! Right result though. Anyway what is the chance of a shorty getting stuck?

          • Sol, Mate, I forgot to add that I have a K&N air filter but I make sure I keep the spare air filter which comes up for replacement in the 10K service from time to time also I have replaced my Hella4000 globes with 55w HID 6K globes and also my low beam with Phillips Ballast HID 4300K with a decoder on each light but not my high beam.I found the low beam toooo dull as I live in the bush, I have the Phillips globes and ballast for the high beam just haven't fitted them I bought the option of going 4300K and or with 6000k globes The only downer I have is the reflection coming off the road signs .I rarely get flicked by other motorists but then I can set the lights down lower as that is a feature with the SX shorty
The gauges I have put them in a pod that sits on my dash as I don't use them all the time only when towing my van . I have a breakaway coupling in a recess behind the dash and alongside the drivers door which I just clip in and out when I need them Cheers Mate keep up the good work Cheers Foxy

              Hey Sol,

Just glad I could help, And avoid a bad problem in getting bogged, an even worse situation. But like Mj said, what's the chances of getting bogged anyway. :-)
              Geoff

Im not Bogged - I've just lost traction. . . . . and now I'm showing the wife why I bought those Maxtrax, and the tyre deflator, and the compressor, and the bullbar, and the winch, and a lot of other goodies I've hidden in the Prado

Guys, Ever been to Darwin? Mud flats, marsh land & swamps to play in. I have seen all sorts of things get bogged up here. I had to leave my cruiser over night after getting in to a bad area and not being able to get out. Lots of good time to be had. Also lots of potential bad times too.
