Thanks for the pics Craig. I'm assuming it's the big pin in the center that holds the airbag in, now I'm trying to work out what the bolt and nut off to the side does.

The nut is what holds the airbag down.

OK, I would have assumed it was the center pin rather than something off to the side.

Sorry fido thought this needed to be asked.
Hi, yes I did post in that thread. Found more, but have not bothered noting it, as I'm wrong, about what I know to be a fact, happy to agree to disagree.

Um I'm confused now. If there are errors then they should be corrected, shouldn't they?

I haven't changed anything else at this stage because I wanted to retain the Toyota TEMS shocks. I've still managed to gain a 65mm lift however this is expected to settle back down over the next month or so.

                Heights for the front before were 760mm (L) and 745mm (R), after they are 825mm (L) and 810mm (R).

Sorry #### can't recall what the rears came up to since the airbags self-levelling sensors took care of that.

Anthony had some fun with the KDSS specific bits of the suspension but I'll let him chime in with any technical details (assuming they aren't trade secrets LOL).

I'll get some progress pics up as soon as I can work out how to get them off my phone, were sent to me in an MMS message.

                Hi Fiddo666,

I followed your thread from your post on http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...l-Kakadu/page4. Thank you for the link.

May I please ask when you say the self-levelling sensors took care of the rears... Do you mean that after the new front springs the rear will sit higher automatically to make the car level? I thought that the sensors needed to be adjusted to do this. Please explain as I am considering copying what you have done. It is such a worry as to obtaining the lean, that is holding me off doing anything. I also want to keep the current TEMS features.

Just went and did a quick measure for you on the driver's side with the rear set to "N", front is sitting ~810mm and rear is ~785mm so she's sitting a bit higher in the nose at the moment. My understanding is that we need to let the new springs settle before making any adjustments to the sensors to bring up the rear.

Anthony might be able to explain the technical aspects if you send him a PM. Also a few of the build threads have info in them from people who have done this mod already.

Fido just confirming you are measuring off the rim/tyre at the bottom so the front is about 795 in 17" speak. So pretty much perfect. You could tweak the rear to get to 840/845 and it would be fine. From what I have read on here it is an easy job to trick the sensors at the back anyway.

I measured from the base of the rim to the top of the wheel arch panel through the center of the hub. The front wheel was on a slight angle but that shouldn't have thrown things out too much. I have 18" rims but I'm sure you know that, just mentioning it for the benefit of others reading.

Got the most important (and most fun) mod of all on Saturday, dirt!

Also got some lovely bush pinstripes, they weren't so fun but inevitable I guess. You can't really see them in this photo but they are there.

                          Post-fun cleanup

Had the car on the hoist at Anthony's today to tweak the rear airbag sensors. I was surprised there wasn't much re-decoration of the bash plates following our Wombat Forest adventure. Got a better pic of the TG150 while it was there :-

A bit dirtier then when it was installed but still perfectly intact too.

Photos of the air bag sensor tweaks to come, just off to dinner (we eat late around here).

                              Airbag sensor spacers - right/driver's side :-

Didn't need as many on the left/passenger side since it was already sitting a bit higher than the right. Not the best photo, only had my p & s with me :-

                                The end result :-

Sorry for the cr@p photos, was battling mid-morning sunshine with the p & s. Anthony may have a better one.

I don't have the measurements to hand (forgot to write them down myself), perhaps Anthony can post them. I can say the front is sitting fairly level now and the lean in the back is no longer quite as pronounced, the difference being more like 20mm than the pre-tweak 35 mm. The Kaka when viewed from the side is sitting nice and level and not so nose-up as it was before following the new front spring install.
