Well I've been on the forum for a pretty long time, however I havn't over posted any pics of my rig.
Anyways it's a 2000 GXL TD auto, which my parents bought new when we moved to australia. I later bought the prado off of them when the moved back to canada.
Pic of the prado when I bought it. It had King spring, with bilsteins, TJM bullbar, and 275/70r16 bfg at
I later added some bfg MT 265/75r16 which stayed on the prado for a longtime and added some front and rear ARB lockers. I also made a rear drawer system,a semi-cargo barrier, Hannibel Roof-Top Tent. Which was used for a 3 month touring trip. (The Shelfs barely survived the trip)
When I got back from the trip I Didn't do to much to the old girl but I did add a rear bar which is pretty nice
From the trip the suspension was pretty shagged so I decide to splash out and bought a Sonaron Steel 1.2 kit when the Dollar was High at 85cents (Hindsight is a wonderful thing).
My wife and I decided to go and visit my in laws at mt Tamborine when weekend. Anyways we almost slipped of there driveway which is on the side of a very steep hill.
There was quite a bit of damage, 1 broken CV, 2 rear bent lower control arms and of course the plastic GXL Cladding on the rear (which was always a problem). This was mainly do to the tread of the BFG MT becoming extremely hard over time, and even the they had heaps of tread lift, they still had very little traction.
So after that I got pretty serious! I added sonoran steel Lower Control Arms, X-rox bar, 235/85r16 bighorns, and of course I removed the GXL Cladding and painted of ute liner of the side, and some Rocksliders too which I got from a Forum member.
Cheers Andy
