Hi Matt. Seems there are a few former SW members over here on PP.

So the cruiser has gone and a Prado is in place of it? Nice work!! You dont waste time in modding cars do you! Having seen the buildup's on a few of your last cars, this one should be equally good as well!

Enjoy it mate, you've done a good job so far!
    Cheers, Damo

G'day Damo! Good to hear from you mate! Haha yes the cruiser is gone.. another one bites the dust. The prado ticks all boxes though for me, hopefully this one is a keeper mate!

Will have to checkout your build thread.

Thanks for all the other comments. I ran all the wiring for the UHF last night and installed the antenna, picture below.

Will finish it on the weekend. Anyone got any advice of the "best" and neatest way of attaching the wires to the battery terminals? I believe the fuse has to be close to the battery to right, not near the device?

      Matt

Thanks Madkore. That would definitely be the go! Sounds like you have a great rig there too mate.

Next is the much needed lift on march 2nd and then ill wait patiently for the rails and side steps to hopefully be released by ARB soon... although hopefully not too soon so I can save my pennies

              G'day Guys,

              A few updates...

Had the ulimate suspension lift installed with airbags and rear adjustables on the weekend just gone. Very happy with them

Driving on dirt roads daily its been a great opportunity to test it out. I think some lifts out there may appear a little higher so not sure what the go is with different brands! Still impressed, took it on the worse possible route to my house with heaps of corrugations and soaks them up nicely!

Also installed the UHF... pics below....

Took a slight detour on my way back to Orange via lidsdale state forest after all the rain

Thanks Octane. Yep just the standard welded bracket on the top tube. I don't know why ARB put them so close together in the middle, it's really annoying if you want to run two antennas!

Hmmm... that lift looks a little high to me...

WHO AM I KIDDING??? Looks great. And a beautiful bit of countryside makes for some great pics!

                      Thanks Fellas.

Good to hear John. I am happy with them, considering I go on dirt everyday with 38 PSI they're holding up very well. I've done around 5000kms on them now, getting slightly noisier but easily bearable

Will let the pressures down on the camp trip I have next weekend, Abercrombie NP. Will be a good test!

                        G'day guys, few updates...

I did my first trip and tackled the big hill climb at Abercrombie, it was great. I had one land cruiser driver throw a few comments at me as if my car was an incapable soccer mum mobile, showed him up! :-o

Overall the Prado went well. I was just a little disappointed with the rear foam cells performance. Called Brendan at ultimate and he said "no worries! Come down and ill arrange some custom valved gas shocks for you free of charge" This is why I went to ultimate, great service! I have been finding the foam cells way too soft on and off road ,very bouncy. However they are adjustable, I found the soft and hard settings two different extremes and couldn't get it right. As I drive road and dirt everyday I am fussy and hoping the gas shocks will do better...

Anyway, side rails aren't far away although I was considering cancelling to get a roof rack first for my upcoming trip to flinders ranges, birdsville etc in 4 weeks.

Question, has anyone attached or would it be possible to attach an LED light to the front of the rhino platform rack (42102)?

                        Matt
