Come on Barney, you know you want to! Check out the Sat 8th June trip thread for some pics of the fun we had today. The springs held up well and AFAIK nothing broke!

Looks like you all had great fun today. How is it so dry for Victoria? I thought you would need a 30ft snorkel to go out in winter lol. Its good to hear the springs held up to the task. Doesn't anyone like the OEM wheels anymore? haha

How did the new mats perform, did they catch all the mud?

I am going to call the WA Dobinson's rep on Monday for a quote and possibly a booking next week if they will fit the Kaka. I have to call coz they dont have an email address lol must be a WA thing (wait awhile).

The funny thing is it's been pi$$ing down here the last day or so but water runs down hill you see and we were mostly going up them :-)

Ours are OEM, just powdercoated black. We bought it that way, had to ring the ex-owner to find out what he had done.

They worked great, just a bit of mud on the carpet next to the console from my boot slipping. They have a bit of a lip on the edge that seemed to stop dirt from escaping otherwise. I have a pic somewhere, will post it in the mats thread.

Let us know how you go, part no. we used is C59-726.

          Hey Fido,

Well I didn't have much luck today with upgrading the front springs. All bar one will not upgrade the spring without the shock as well.

So my only option if I want to retain the OEM shock is the King spring KTFS-121 which they do not stock and have to order in (10 days). From your research would the King spring support the extra weight up front?

          Regards

Is this Dobinsons or some other suspension mob(s)? Did they tell you why?

That's the spring I was originally looking at, from my understanding it will also do the job. There was a bit of discussion in the Wholesale Suspension support thread about them that you may wish to peruse.

Yeah it was the Dobinsons. They stated that the travel of the OEM shock would not be compatible with that of the new spring? I'll have a look at the thread and see what I can find.

              Cheers

Sorry, just want to clarify if it was Dobinsons themselves who said that or a Dobinsons dealer.

                      Hi amts,

The weights from memory, ARB deluxe bar (approx 65Kgs), Warn 9.5XP (35Kgs), Dual battery (15kgs) and spot lights, ARB compressor around another 5Kgs = approx total 120kgs

I haven't noticed any droop yet but have only travelled 700kls so far. I am expecting it after advice from ARB and info in various threads and build ups on PP.

OK so not an actual Dobinsons rep then. I'd suggest you speak to one as I'm assured the springs I have used are OK with the Toyota TEMS shocks.

As long as the strut isn't under damped, i.e. wallows like an untrained seal, like the OEM suspension, should be fine.

I'll give them a call and discuss if they will supply and fit the springs only.
