Cheers Mudduck - i haven't done much that others before me haven't already covered, but that is the beauty of this forum, in that everyone tends to create their own unique slant on their prised rig setup by making unique combinations of improvements to suit their own needs.

Happy to give you any advice or pics you need...

          • Hi Smithy,
Mate like mjrandom has said, its easier to join into the original front diff breather pipe and extend to the desired location. Ill be back under my rig tomorrow so will take a few pics for ya.

            Cheers,

              • Front breather join. Prety straight forward, I removed the old breather, inserted a brass barb and then screwed in the new joiner and hose. Same deal with the rear diff but its a straight screw in barb to hose setup, cable tie hose off underneath the rails until you get it to the desired location in the engine bay.

                Front join.

Didnt have time today to get to the transfer case and manual box, burnt my time finishing off installing the EGT sensor in the exhaust. Will have time tomorrow once the missus is at work and not hammering me for spending my time at home under the Prado!

                Cheers,

                • Well, after some words of advice per above, I finally managed to get the Diff Breathers done. A big thankyou to mjrandom and Dueller120 for your assistance!

I don't know why I though it was so difficult. The rear diff took a bit of messing around, but was pretty simple really.

Interestingly when I pulled the OEM breather off the rear, it sucked a lot of air in, due to the one-way valve.

I'll leave the Transfer Case and Gear Box for later, as these are definately going to take some time...

Will let you know how I progress with mine when I can get back from work! I like how neat that filter bracket looks.

Thanks Dueller. I am very keen to see how you get on.

I like the BRC mounting block too. The kit probably cost more than a personalised job, but it has everything I needed, including cable ties, so was easier than sourcing parts. The rear diff attachment screwed straight in, so hopefully the transfer case and gear box will too...

Vaughan, if you want some assistance, this was pretty easy to do in the end. We are heading to Launnie this weekend and could drop around and give you a hand if you like, or let me know of a time more convenient for you, and when you have the parts.
