There is on the right side, where the EGR is, a very small 2mm hose - make sure that it doesn't come off. I discovered that the hard way, engine goes into limp mode, which makes interesting driving!

What I found easiest for me, there is one of the EGR sensors at the front with the 2mm hose, 10mm socket and off it comes. Much easier than trying to remove the plug from the cable harness. Just tuck out of the way, then you are free to "jiggle" the intercooler off, without worry of wrecking a sensor.
Thanks Guys - will give it a closer look.

Can anyone confirm my question about whether the hoses to the catch can need to run downwards (into to can), or doesn't it matter?

Ordered some 3D mats today to help keep the car a bit tidier on our 5 week road trip coming up.
Postman delivered the mats during the week, and I must say, they look pretty good for the price. I was worried they might be poorly packed and creased (saw this was a problem in another post), but they were packed carefully and no signs of damage. I haven't had a chance to fit them yet, as that is tomorrow's job, after I clean out the kiddy mess under the existing mats I have.

These mats are excellent. They fit well, are build well, and won't slip out of position. I have never seen Sandgrabbas, and possibly they would be better quality, but for the price difference, I am stoked with these.

The only negative comment I have is that the driver's side is moulded too wide around the Left Hand side footrest, so when I depress the clutch, the mat gets in the way. I think it has been designed to suit an automatic.

I am going to either have to try and re-shape this section, or cut it out, but other than that, the mats are great.

        • Hi Smithy
Good upgrade to the floor protection there mate.
Don't know if you could take out that left foot rest hump on your drivers mat with a heat gun or hot hair drier.
Please don't burn the bloody thing, but it would be thermally molded during manufacture.
          Cheers

          • Thanks for that Troy - I will try all options before the last resort of cutting it out. Haven't had a chance to play with it yet, other than an initial drive. SWMBO hasn't been complaining too loud, but she has smaller feet than me.

Will apply some heat on the weekend and see how it goes.

            • AJ120 Sliders on order

Well, with the pending trip to WA, and our route planning taking us pretty close to AJ120, I thought I'd take advantage and swing by his place and pick up a set of his legendary sliders on our way through. Order has been placed, so another mod to cross off the list!

I remember reading it somewhere but I can't find it now. Can you please post a link for you new mats? They look pretty good and I like the mat for under the 2nd row seat.
                Thanks.

If thats your logic, perhaps a rear bar is on the cards too?

Maybe you would like to suggest that The Minister for Finance, Madkore. She wasn't keen on spending more of our "Hard Earned" on the car as it is, but when I convinced her we could save on freight, she caved in (plus going to have to sell of the OEM steps too). I reckon the rear bar would be pushing the relationship just a little too far. Plus, this is money being spent at the start of our 5 week trip, so will drain the Treasury a bit more than anticipated... I'll take what I can get.

                      • After actually seeing AJ's slider in person at last years GTG you will be very happy with them. Just remind the Minister it is for the protection of the family that they have to be fitted.

                        • Nice one Smithy,

Bet you can't wait to test them out! You planning to remove your stock ones and leave them at home or you going to lug them around up on the racks when you fit the sliders? My order is in as well, we're probably in the same batch. I'm heading down from Sydney to the High Country in November and then straight to SA for the rest of the trip, will pass Loxton on my way back home, but because i'll need them for the High Country i have to bite the bullet and get them delivered.... ouch.

Wanna pick me up a set while you are over there ? Chuck 'em on the rack and bring 'em back.

I have been thinking the same thing. Or we can save a bit longer and get AJ to bring two sets when he comes here for the GTG in 2015.

I'll rip the stock ones off the day we leave. That way I'll have the new ones on in 24hrs and won't have to lug the old ones across the country and back.
