As Piggy has stated, it's a privacy thing. Something I forgot to request (and wasn't offered) to get the magazine to blank out the plates. With freedom of information these days, it doesn't take much to locate where a vehicle is registered to. There's iPhone apps that upon entering the rego number gives you the make, year and model number, VIN and rego expiry dates. I'm sure there are folk out there who'd try to use it for undesirable purposes, so it's my preference to blank them out when I can (and remember...) This has been a practice on Pradopoint for many years, particularly on the PP trips, where if you're posting images of other members cars, it's courtesy to blank out the plates for said privacy reasons.2004 V6 Grande. Yeah, exactly, Craig, hence my reason for questioning why you had it shown in the mag. Exactly what you described is my reason for a lack of a build thread also. I've heard of a few 4WD forum and LS1 forums members cars being stolen. Doesn't help having a big shopping list for thieves to browse.
Not to derail your thread, but I heard a while ago about Prados being targeted - can't remember if it was on here or if it was a nightmare I had shortly after buying mine haha.

I had time today to fitup some gear that arrived from amts earlier this week. Most important were the recovery points.
This is where they go. with just the 2 bolts to be remove. Although amts instructions mention that it's not necessary to remove the ARB Bar side wing covers, I found it easier to do so.
After removing the 2 bolts you need to fish out the rear nut which at least on the Sahara bar, is attached to a length of wire as is supplied with the kit.
All fitted up
The drivers side was a little more fiddly with the windscreen washer bottle to contend with.

I also purchased amts Heavy Duty Radiator Plate for 120 ARB and Opposite Lock bullbar. This was designed for the Deluxe bar but of course I have the Sahara and it turns out the existing plate is approx 55mm wider than the Deluxe and the front fixing surface is angled to match the angle of the plate where as the Deluxe is horizontal to the plate has a little kick in it so the plate sits flush. So if anyone in Brisbane who is wanting one of these great plates and wants to save on the freight, send me a PM.2004 V6 Grande. BLACK -

Im not Bogged - I've just lost traction. . . . . and now I'm showing the wife why I bought those Maxtrax, and the tyre deflator, and the compressor, and the bullbar, and the winch, and a lot of other goodies I've hidden in the Prado
