Craig do you intend fitting the solar panel to the tray? If you are have you found any suitable mounts? The panel I bought has big plastic hinges which are sturdy and rustproof but stick out too far. I am going to have to change them and the case clips anyway but I wanted to bolt straight onto the rack so looking for ideas. Different rack and panel but ideas are ideas.

No intention (at this point in time anyway) to fit the panel to the tray. It will used to rarely to go to the trouble of fabricating a solution to store under the Rack. My intention is to strap it vertically to the outside of the fridge divider when travelling. Simple but will again suit my needs.
Fair pick up mjr. Bit of a silly use of word, I actually really like N/S rails I've them on my rig, I actually find Prado's with a bare roof a bit odd..just MO! I find the factory rails a bit of an anomaly, you have them on, without anything they're great but when you add on a load carrying device again they look a bit odd and they reduce your load capacity. Put something 'aftermarket on' (take off N/S rails) and it increases your carrying capacity and you have more options with trays/platforms etc. I always take factory as being the best but like in many things they are not!! Like I said they're great if you want to carry nothing ..or little!! P. Platforms with the rails are a great (newish) solution and the way to go IMO!!

I actually got them through a Vendor on Patrol4x4.com who no longer trades. Also bought my HID upgrade kit for my IPF's from him too.
Need to get my winch (Magnum 9K)checked out. We were up at Levuka yesterday with some of the boys and went to check the winch operation before trying some silly stuff and on winching it out a couple of feet, it was winding real slow as if the Car battery was flat or under extremely heavy load. Checked all connections which appeared OK, s I'm not sure whats going on. I could freespool it OK but struggled to winch the cable back in. Know bugger all about winch electricals/mechanicals so it could be brushes or solenoids or gearing. I'll make some calls today to find out what to look for before I pull it out. Next stop, Accessories section to find some winch threads...
Talk about bad timing hey Craig, but hats off to you for checking it before hand.
After all that winching from the mud gully, I am suprised that Landrovers battery even still works......
I have about 2 tonnes of Levuka mud attached to every crevice of the Prado to clean off now!

Been thinking about just how I was going to layout my Circuit Breakers etc for my Dual Battery System. I have chosen to use Manual Circuit Breakers and wish to keep it tidy, with room for a small fuse panel nearby so I can clean up all the existing fuses for accessories that are presently hanging off the main battery which are tucked up in various places. Yet another advantage of the V6 is that there's plenty of room on the drivers side guard to mount stuff. I really wanted to avoid having to drill into the side of the guard and there were a couple of spare M6 threaded holes to take advantage of. I picked up some 8mm Black sheeting (similar to Bread Board material) to mount the breakers on to keep it tidy. Here's what I've done tonight.
A blank canvas, just needed to move one cable plug and cable tie it to the loom out of the way.
Bolted in a generous sized piece of P.E. Board using existing holes and fitted my Breakers closest to the Auxiliary battery, leaving room closer to the firewall for a fuse panel for the Accessories
150A Manual Reset Breaker services Aux Batt to Redarc SBI12 (3 B&S / 25mm²). 30A Manual Reset Breaker for 6mm² to Baintech Universal DC Socket Power Board in rear compartment. 60A Manual Reset Breaker for 6 B&S (13mm²) to Anderson Plug in Rear Compartment for Solar Panel or 3rd battery
And on the other (passenger) side firewall, I have done a similar deal for mounting the Redarc SBI12 and another 150A Manual Reset Breaker to the Main Barttery. Managed to use the existing M5 Bolts sticking out of the firewall.
Next obviously will to be run in the all the cables in Split Tubing and fit off the panel in the rear. I need to source someone with a good Crimper for the Batt Cabling. I also have a Twin USB Outlet that I want to install in the back somewhere for the kids to plug in and charge up their iPads. Might look and see if I can get in run into the back of the Centre Console below the rear AirCon controls.
