Well I guess its about time I started a build up thread on my fourby, although its almost as built up as it's going to get!
Started life as a dec 07 D4D 120 6 speed manual. Bought it from Bunbury Toyota early in Jan 08. Officially it's a GX model but we got the optional(then) flare kit and wider wheels(steel) so it looks more like a GXL and leather steering wheel with stereo controls and cruise control. We also got the color coded ARB bar from new.


Since then I've added
50mm lift kit
Safari snorkle
Custom made drawer system with fridge slide
BFGoodrich 265/70/17
GME remote head UHF
Custom aluminium roof rack with ARB awning and 80W solar panel
Dual battery system
Extra power outlets in the rear and also in the center console
Rear work light



I originally fitted Ironman springs and shocks and while the springs are still going fine, I have never been happy with the shocks. The lower front shock bushes needed to be replaced every 30000km! so after the third set I chucked them out and replaced them with Bilstein shocks which have a much bigger bush in them but not as much travel.

My latest project is building a roof top console to house assorted crap in.
I scored an interior light/sunglass holder from work the other week so I'm incorporating that into the design(double overhead holders!)

Attaching it to the roof.............yes still working that out!
I'll post some pics of the draw system tomorrow, just got to take a few. I've been going through all our photos today looking for pics of the rig and came up pretty empty!

Hey, just got the new issue of Camper Trailer Touring magazine and found our readers interview(thanks for the heads up VKPrado).
It's three pages from page 113 and we're pretty rapt with how it came out. Make us look good!
Pity we didn't make the cover though!

Just bought a new stereo on ebay to replace the piece of crap Digioptions unit.
Its a Kenwood DDX630WBT

Well maybe not "hacked" but running another program called TTMaps that allows you to use your own maps in ECW format(Same as ozi).
