That's it, add a touch of Tasmania to the Prado. Good advertisment for the 2015 GTG.

Just make sure it is all fitted so we can have a look on Thursday night.

Working on it! Might be one of those last minute installs!

Put the final coat on this afternoon - just before fighting with my dual battery setup.

Should look like glass! Went to Foamland and got self adhesive "carpet", the grey is pretty much a match for the grey interior carpet! Lighter too, than the marine carpet.

Oddly, looking at the hose - I thought there would be more. But this on the re-build, about 4K km's on it.

Thanks to VKPrado, getting me a 30 l fridge/freezer - looks like I am going to be building some shelves and a fridge slide of some description!

                  Lazy Sunday Project

While I'm pretty much happy with my UHF setup, the only thing I've had issues with is the mic mounting. I applied Velcro hooks to the back of the mic and it would stick to the dash mat. Worked OK, but not the best solution - without drilling holes.

Since I've also managed to score a new head unit (bluetooth!!!) that has USB (charging as well), I wanted to get a cradle that would sit on the air vent and allow charging via the head unit.

I thought about making a bracket, but the two 10mm bolts in behind the vents (that hold the central console together), wasn't possible - mostly due to where the clips mount in - or without "trimming" some plastic.

Quick and dirty solution - 3M double sided tape (honestly forget the exact brand, but by goodness this stuff is the weapon!). The mic bracket isn't smooth on the back....Hmmm.....ah, trimmed up some computer memory stick packaging to fit the back, crazy glue and presto! Flat back for double sided tape!

                  Here's the center console:

Close up of UHF and mic:

Just as a side note, the scratches came with the Prado! Also I think there was a cat hair on the lens....

Good to see you have it sorted. We can give it a good test on the 15th December on our drive.

Sand flag is the next order of business! Got an idea from another forum - think tent poles with the bungee shock cord.

I've used an old fishing rod - works a treat for us.
Our's is mounted off our roof rack, I think Ben uses similar but mounted on his bull bar.

Looking forward to the beach and dune run, guys. I take it that you and Palmer will be bringing the refreshments, to ensure the new fridges are up to scratch

Yeah, as for my sand flag, its just two parts of an old beach rod, that I tie to the bull bar with cam buckle straps. Got SWMBO to sew some card into an old hi-vis vest for the flouro effect.

Got to admit, I get given some stick about my "pretty" flag, but when we were crossing the Simo a number of the groups coming the other way told us they could see our flag from a greater distance than the normal flag on the other vehicle with us.
