Latest mod is installation of some LED worklights. I already had 2 x 1380 lumen round LEDs that were mounted on the Rhino bar facing rearwards that were transplanted onto the Tracklander. I then got 2 x Narva 800 lumen lights which I monted under the rack and just above the drivers and front passenger roof. They are individually switched using Narva LED rocker switches. All this running from the aux battery using a 10 amp breaker and 10 amp trailer 7 core wire for the colour coding. The cable runs along the right side of the car under the plastic trim, exits at the rear door where the power cables run from the body to the door. The LED cable then runs up the back to the rack.

And not to forget the camper trailer. I sold my Jayco Outback Swan after taking it and the kids to Cape York in 2006. I picked up the Performance Campers Maddington (WA) CT from a guy who had bought it but never used it for camping. The trailer comes with a front storage box and inter-changeable quad bike carry rack. The roof rack is standrad too. I've fitted 3 x 50 watt BP solar panel with regulator and 2 x N770 deep cycle batteries. It also has a elctric water pump. Comes with awning and fly netting. It was supplied with 16 inch BFGs. I recently refurbished the heavy duty springs and am looking at fitting electric brakes. It is pretty tough and carries all the stuff that we need. It has provision for 5 x jerry cans, 1 x gas bottle and under-slung 140 litre water tank. We also like the 3 stages of set-up. Stage 1 is just pop the tent section up. stage 2 we fit the awning roof if staying for more than a couple of days and stage 3 is zipping in the fly walls to keep the missus happy if we are going to stay for a while.

The exhaust was done by Mettams Mufflers in Midland (WA). I just ordered it from the factory and they gave me a list of places where I could get it fitted.Dave

My next big mod is going to be an off-road caravan to replace the camper trailer. I keep looking and might go to a couple of the factories in Queensland next year after the GTG and check out some specs for a machine that will compliment the Prado.Dave

great build up dave!
How do you find the camper as opposed to the caravan? Is it a bit of a downgrade in terms of luxury? what about extra setup time etc do you regret it or love it as you can take it further off the beaten path as opposed to the caravan.
I only ask as I think a pop top caravan is next on the list for me as opposed to my current camper trailer.2012 4dr JK wrangler, 3.5" AEV lift, AEV mags, 35" muddies, front/rear arb bars, tjm sliders, pioneer platform and some other goodies
