You've being talking about these sliders for so long now lol. I would post a nice colour coded set that was fitted to my old rig, but I can't figure this new forum out.

      • Joey,

How long did it take to powder coat your rims and how much did it cost, was thinking whether to get new rims or powder coat mine black also. Keeping the stock allows is really what I wanted, there a nice rim. Love the car bro, you've given me a whole new perspective to what I want to do to my car which I had some things in mind just didnt know how they would look but looking at yours has pretty much settled my decision hahaha. Cheers bro

          Gday 11 Menz 11,
I looked at the option of powder coating my rims initially but decided to paint them.
mine were scratched up already and was planing on buying black rims so i did it as a test.

i did them myself. i purchased special mag paint and primer. i cut them back and gave them 5 coats of the black and 4 coats of clear..came out a treat and are yet to scratch.. And believe me i have given them a fair test...

          Hope that helps.

          cheers Joey

          • Joey,

Thanks for that . . . Saw the pictures of when you did your and doesn't look that difficult. Might just do it that way, save some money also.

            Thanks heaps.

            • Joey, got question for you.How has your motor and drive train holding up after mods you have done?Your running a lot more of everything than I've been told is good for a tractor motor of our vintage.Do you do anything tricky to keep it running sweet and for me,reliable?

                Paul ,
I have had zero issues with the drive train and reliablity.
I ensure that it is serviced every 5000km including simple things like tyre rotation and wheel allignments. Also i change out all fluids regualry.
the old girl is running sweet.
I guess i have had more issues with things like wheel bearings and a clutch..

                cheers.

                      • Well it was another awsome day out with the 4WD Action Crew and the rig had never looked so clean..

Unlike my previous shoots with the crew i had a feature done on the driver and his shed as well...

than i went to a variety of locations and the pics were awsome..
of course they are under wraps until the mag comes out but i managed to take a couple with my i phone of the day..

                        thats all i can show!

                        cheers Joey

                            • Geez your rig and Mr 4x4's Prado in 4wd Action shoots, anyone would think they got some bad exposure on a forum!!!!! Who will be next.

Joey great rig, prior to getting my 150 I was trying to get a near new 120 but couldn't find one to my liking. During my searching I read reread and looked over your build thread numerous time making a list of the work I wanted to do. And I do believe your rig is worthy to be in any 4wd magazine it's a pity it's a magazine that I am a bit tired of at the moment.

I'll be up your way next June for our Cape Trip, I'll keep a lookout for those three spotties.
