Sorry for stupid question but isn't that the idea? the oiled filter retains the dust till it is washed
Where do you think the dust goes in a paper filter? it retains it until you blow or throw it out!

      Mick

Keep a check on the filter. I had one in my Audi, whilst they sound good they let more crap through than OE filters and the oil attracts dust quicker negating the benefits
True MickL but I think the reference by the post was that the oil was retaining more dust therefore negating the filter effect. I was trying to be a little more diplomatic with my question then what you obviously where in your reply.

Diplomacy isn't always my strong point...I'm a simple bloke and I tend to say things straight up.

Anyway, let's not hijack Joey's thread.

Heh Joey - I am guessing that it was your rig in the latest issue of 4WD Action - sans bonnet scoop though. Looks great in print - well done!

What size and type of tyre did you end up going? I wanted to get the MTZ but they only came in a 275/70/R18 and the local MT dealer wasn't sure if they would fit on a prado and I may have to get a Passenger car tyre as not many companies do this size in a MT

Awesome rig Joey, a great "guide" for the rest of us starting our own build-ups. I'm researching suspension for my '04 - 4.0 l toy toy & come across heaps of people that have also gone the "King springs/ bilstein shocks" combo. If possible could you give me a few extra details on the suspension on your rig such as if shocks are adjustable, did you fit longer bump stops, any adjustments on the steering etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
              cheers, Barney

                Hi Joey,

Mate who made your bash plate for under the cross member? I have the same bar on the front, but suffer some damage on the area directly behind the ARB Bar plates.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

Well as most of you know i had the rig in booked in last week for the new bad ass black rims......

So after waiting 6 weeks for them to arrive the day came and i went and dropped the rig in for the new wheels....

well half way through the day i hgot a call ....SORRY MATE WE HAVE A PROBLEM CAN YOU COME DOWN....I DID and when i got there i discovered the dick heads had ordered the wrong size......

so after a few choice words i promptly asked for my money back and said merry xmas......

i then went and bought this ....

                              here is my new mod.......

i then went to bcf and spent the 2and a half G on fishing gear

Nice tinnie! Watch those transom straps. I had some like that and they kept loosening in transit and the hull would bounce on the trailer. I ended up getting some straps with a ratchet. Must be a wide beam or is the trailer a little small for the hull?
