Thanks Mark, a valid point, I suppose the sahara bar would fix that (at the risk of exposing the lights to damage), or some matt black paint on the back of the hoops, but I imagine most wouldn't like defacing there bullbars like that.
You certainly have a good looking truck.
Yeah that was my thought, who gets a bar colour coded, then paints it black in parts..
Thanks, I like my new truck too..

I have put black tape on the back of my bar as when you have high beam on you could read a book in the cabin.
The black tape over the droopy light is so it doesn't reflect through the bar.

What sort of tape are you using? Most tape Ive seen so far peels pretty quick (Darwin weather prob speeds up the peeling)

Currently I have some sped tape, it is slightly coming off on the corners but has been on for three months and I do a 180km round trip every day at 120km per hour.

I don't have any issues with the reflection from my high beams. I love the stealth look in any vehicles, I colour coded my black bar and black steps to black because it gives the same colour finish... Gotta luv that Prado!

So you put the tape on the light, not the bar itself??

So, I ended up getting the Oricom installed today, pretty happy with the install too.
Mounted the base unit on passengers side, behind the glove box, screwed to the panel next to the kick panel.
(make sense).
I'll get some photos tomorrow.
The remote end of the cable is mounted to the card holder in the glove box.
When he unit is plugged in, the glove box still closes..
Oricom UHF380, with GME aerial on the bar..

I did my UHF install much the same way but didn't bother with the mounting bracket. The base unit is just stuck to the panel with double-sided 3M tape speaker side up, it hasn't come loose so far. For the remote mike extension I just ran it under the center console and stuck it to the side near the driver's left knee with double-sided 3M Outdoor Mounting tape, has not come unstuck even with use. Just a thought as it would give you better reach for the mike hand piece.

Hi Simmo I'm new to PP as I picked up my first Prado month ago. Mine is a 150 face lift white like yours D4D. I have had TJM Dulux Ally bar, Rhino Pioneer Tradie Roof Rack, EPS susspension 50mm lift with air bags, tow pro, Toyota tow bar, over these holidays I have added a dual battery with a redarc bcdc with power at the back for camping, as well as my gme uhf, foxwing, and shovel holder. Im keen to know what you do with your reversing camera as I want to see the towball as well. I will add some pics once I have figured out how to do it.
Thanks Peter
Well bugger me, what a day.
We are heading out camping Long weekend, so need to get the dual batteries and Tekonsha P3 installs done.
Cabling is in, ready to go. Freakin hot day, only to be interrupted by visitors, who then wanted to go out for dinner..
Too much dinner, too many beers, didn't get finished.
BUT
Here is what I have found, that I need some advice on what others have done.
Offroad Down under tray (150 version), same as what I had in my 120. The same battery as what I had in my 120 too,
BUT IT DOES NOT FIT..
The air con hose hits the battery, the battery hits the top of the guard, so its very tight squeeze, very. Now, all these bits rubbing, will eventually rub holes, right? Do I need to get a new battery (wife will hit the roof) what have other done to make stuff fit..
Tekonsha is almost done, just need to install the head unit and tap the brake wire. It will be mounted as far to the left above drivers left knee, clear of the knee airbag. Where should I tap into the brake power line??
Please advise as I need to get this done Sunday...

MDS I could be wrong but in older posts people have actually brought the brake light forward from the tail lights because if you tap off the brake switch it causes dislexia in the computer or something.
