Where abouts have you fitted the aux batteries??
As mine is a daily driver still I was thinking I might go a thumper http://www.homeof12volt.com/?page=sh...3b183&offset=0 behind the cargo barrier so I can take it into camp and also use it for my photographic lights on location.
Cheers, Leon There's no such thing as a wrong turn... it's just the scenic route!

the 3rd battery is on right side of the draw unit, on that dodgy looking timber shelf I knocked up.

Looks good Glenn, the MTZ's and LF covers look a treat.
Hows the plan for Birdsville coming along?
Looking forward to it Joel, busy studying the form guide for the birdsville cup. Its our 1st outback trip & my old mans towing a aussie swag camper trailer so we will pretty much stick to the main tracks, but should be a ripper.

Its hard to imagine it as it was the day i picked it up, I often wonder if the old owner would recognise it if they saw it.

Thanks Glenn...
2nd is under bonnet then I guess?
ARB is telling me I'll be up for about $1K to move the bits around the engine bay and to fit the two batteries under there and wire it all up
The Thumper is about the same price but at least it would then be portable...ish.

Dont know if ive missed it but where did you get that front grill from???
Been looking everywhere for one.
Or was it on the car when you got it?
Darren
the grill is the one that came with the car, never noticed it was different to others, but it is highly posible as mine is an imported prado

Well I have found 2 more things that are different on my import 90 compared to the localy sold truck.
Ordered in a set of poly airs, went to fit them & relised I didnt have any bump stops in the back springs, easily fixed with a trip to the wrekers. Finished installing these tonight. Do other 90's have the bumpstops external to the springs like mine?
Second thing I found was that the front axle is diferent, had a leaking seal replaced & when my mechanic mate whent to toyota for a new one the new seal was almost half the size. We gave them the chasie number and got the right seal in overnight, so it must be a standard seal off another toyota.
Also fitted a new Codan NGT HF radio the other week, took me two nights after work to install, the hardest part is working out were to mount the auto tune, then having to re-arange all the other ariels to suit. Still have to get a bigger tab welded to the bar to take the auto tune, but it works well, called up the VKS-737 base at Charters Towers last night so it works a treat.
Auto tune ariel fited temp. to the light tab on the bar.
Main unit bolted under the pasenger side seat
all in one head unit & mic

G'day yota good to see another 90 in this section they have gone quite latley, anyway just wondering if is legal to mount your HF ariel there I was told by Telstat in melbourne they wont fit a HF radio to a 90 series plus it was illegal to mount the ariel on the bullbar or it maybe just a victorian thing.

The comms shop recomended it be mounted up front as it tunes alot better. I didnt want to mount it on the back as it is easily forgoten when traveling under low trees.
As far as I can tell in NSW the only requirement is that nothing protrudes forward of the bar, but up is OK. I had to move my UHF ariel across to the drivers side light tab & vision wise the 2 large ariels are surpriseinly not distracting at all. It passed the rego inspection on Monday so I shouldnt have any problems.
