I'm a little confused  ... how did you drop the diff but not cut the cross member? It doesn't look like the diffs been dropped (looking at that CV angle). How much down travel is in the front?

A few more pictures would be appreciated...(of "drop brackets" fitted and diff drop)

      Cheers,

      Mick[/quote:ehd55rdu]

The drop bracket drops 3.5 inches, the strut replaced or added a spacer so the wheel hub lowers by six inches. If you drop the differential by six inches, the CV angle is kept as factory. If you do not drop the diff, the CV angle will be huge. Now the diff drops by 3 inches and the shaft is just clear of the rear cross member. No cutting needed, the CV angle is between factory and very bad. The clearance of the diff is better than factory. (gained 3 inches)

Still don't get it, so how about some pictures?... There is only 20mm or so between the diff and cross member... so how do you lower it 3 inches without cuting the cross member?

            Picture worth a thousand words....

It's great when someone does one of those mods your just not sure about. I'm happy to import parts from the US but I want to know they fit and I'm not pissing my money down the drain.

Also want to know whats involved in fitting this stuff.... Any lift like this needs to be engineered, even more so if doing chassis mods... and it all costs money and lots of it... if going this route I'd wanna know it fits, and is worth doing, money vs benefit wise....

Always best to learn from others trials and errors....

                  Pictures to follow...
The diff is much farther away from the transfer case, than where the shaft meets the rear crossmenber. If the shaft can drop by 20mm, the diff can drop a lot.....

                    Re: Hello from Hong Kong

I think basically what is happening here is we have a new member with a "bloody awesome" truck with some serious mods!

Everyone is obviously excited about this as we have now thanks to Bmwvsferrari been offered an inroad to a ready made suspension lift that far exceeds anything that is available locally here in Australia.

I note that Bmwvsferrari seems quite keen and happy to provide further information, and for that we thank you sincerely. We also do ask that members do have patience and also respect when asking for said information on his trucks mods.

On that Note. Bmwvsferrari, I need a mailing address for you please as I have some Pradopoint.com stickers to send your way How many Prado's are in your club? (Send details via PM or email as I prefer them not to be public on the board for your privacy).

                    Thanks.

                      That would be great.

So the angle of the diff is also changed to avoid fouling of the drive shaft on the cross member?

Did you buy straight from the manufacturer.. they are happy to send kits overseas? or did you find a local distributor?

                      Cheers.

                          yes, changed.
FYI, wheelbase of Prado LWB, FJ cruiser, Prado SWB: 109.8, 105.9, 96.7 inches.
The difference in FJcruiser and prado LWB is less than 3%. While it fits FJC, it will be very close to prado LWB.
The manufacturer is not keen on selling overseas. But a number of online sellers would ship. The shipping charge would be>600USD

I would suspect that Ben from the FJ club in the US could be of a help here with forward shipping from the US if needed.

Actually shipping company from oz can arrange pick-up in the US warehouse. The company in Hong Kong did so for me. I paid around 600 AUD for 1 set by sea. I think they charge the same for whatever number of sets to carry.
