Well after researching a number of stone guard options, I have decided to start with a rear window guard and then consider other options to augment this and protect the CT and the rear of the 4WD. Anyway, I thought others might be interested in this DIY option.
Step One - measured the rear window and ordered the perspex to pre-cut to size.

Cleaned out the garage and found these lying around. Perfect for fittings.

Bought some chair stops to creat an air gap (shown stuck on the back of the perspex).

Fittings mounted (drilled holes through perspex)


Finished Product (straps have been since cut down)

Cost....$76
