should be a good trip, but only a short amount of time.. 17 days..

Andy did they talk about how the heat under the bonnet would affect the AGM at all?

Yes that was one of my questions/concerns. Apparently the casing on this battery is constructed from (mumble??? didn't quite catch it) that is better than standard batteries and that this battery will perform like an ordinary battery under the bonnet. I don't know? Put it this way, if it fails, I'm sure they will come to the party on a replacement.

I had been pretty keen on an AGM when I was looking but went with a Deep Cycle Lead Acid as there seemed to be too many people raising issues with the AGMs. Will be good if there has been an improvement in technology or that the issues people have been raising have been proven wrong. What Ah rating and what price did you get for that expensive AGM? (That is if you want to publish that price )

What are the problems you speak of? It's a 79 amp hour, that's the biggest you can fit in the ARB tray (passenger side)

The issues are all heat issues when the battery is mounted under the bonnet which is my prefered location as it dosn't take up valuable space in the rear which with 5 in the vehicle is a premium.

Andy if you are worried, although it doesnt sound like you are, but before you install it, I've got an insulation blanket that I'm happy to throw your way to protect the battery a bit more from the heat. If you like it send me a PM.

                      Righto,

Battery tray and battery installed. The tray comes with simple to follow instructions and requires the fuel filter to be relocated.

Main wires (6B&S) connected, I had to dispense with the proper post connectors you see in the earlier posts, as they didn't fit the posts ???, I will repalce these later...

Fuse box installed (will be relocating this when I add other 12v items)

Wires to the rear added (6mm)

12v socket and volt meter added to rear cargo area

All fired up and working - indicated by the red glow of the redarc

very neat install mate.. well done. it's good when you can do something like that yourself and know it is a good job..

i definitely need to pull mine out and redo it.. it looks terrible in comparison.

I thought I would update this thread with some little bits and pieces done over time and forgot to post.

Relocated the UHF (couldn't see it from the brake controller)

and the mic (kept coming off and annoying me in its original place)

                                Rear cargo mat (thanks dirttracker)

Fire extinguisher added (one more to go)

                                Sandgrabbers (thanks dobbo)

New reverse camera (a god send when coupling to the jayco)
