    thanks man.

i just fitted an ARB Shorty rack (1120) with the kaymar jack and shovel holder. i really got the rack to get my hi lift out of the back and also to carry the extra spare tyre on the longer treks.

    sneak peek.

I've had to get used to the same thing :P
I sit just above 2.1m which sucks because the local shopping centre has a 2.1m clearance and I just don't make it!

        Car's looking great!

              thanks man,

and as for the winch, well don't really wanna fork out for a new one right now. they expensa, and heavy too. i wanna try and get my 120 a bit higher and put some 285's on 1st. i do have a 2nd hand winch i was given and have just finished rebuilding it, but i don't want to fit it up only to find it won't pull anything under load. might sell it to off set the cost of a new one. the winch i have doesn't have a control box with it, but i was thinking about running one of those sealed contactor packs like the new warn XDC winch.

plus, i gotta take my bar off soon to change out the chassis bracing for the bull bar. i bent the RHS 'tow' point. i have new brackets and they are getting gusseted before i re-fit them. i will post pics when i get them back.

I'm looking at fitting a Beaudesert Exhaust soon. Just wondering if you fitted yours yourself and if so, how easy was(or not).

thanks man. its only 10 minutes to the bush up here, so getting out there with the family is great, and easy with a well set up Prado.

i fitted the beaudesert myself. if you have a hoist, its not too bad, but not impossible on the ground. the 3 main bolts on the turbo was the hardest most time wasting part of it. INOX the bolts before hand, and try not to snap or break the studs. I used a 6 sided (hex) socket so i had as little chance as possible of rounding the nuts as well. Otherwise its a turbo out jobby to fix briken studs. the factory system on my 2008 came off pretty easy. INOX it (my exhaust guy says it works best)

i ended up cutting the exhaust above the rear diff to get it out easier. i used a 4 poster hoist. a 2 poster may work better.

i also found that the new beaudesert hits my floor/heatshield where it passes over the rear crossmember above the diff. not sure if everyone gets this though.

all nuts and bolts were included as well as gaskets. i also used the red hi temp gasket goo too. also makes the gaskets stay in place when trying to line all sections up.

i don't have a muffler on my system, and its LOUD. not as bad if you drive and shift under 2500rpm. but geez people know when you open her up.
before the beaudesert, i had just cut the muffler out of the factory exhaust. this lowered my turbo spool up from 1800rpm to 1500rpm making it much easier to drive, and also gave it a nice note, not being too loud. i didn't mind this not and volume.

the beaudesert is another half inch larger in diameter, and fark it makes a big difference in Note, Volume and drivability. no more lugging 3rd gear corners.

                            Good work mate!..

i had my beadessert straight through as well , but the noise sounds a bit rough..plus some loss in back pressure thus performance made me a small hotdog..this increased performance and also the sound is mean!!....

once you add a performance chip and incease boost ( mine went from 6psi to 14.5psi and 350 nm to 520nm), then you will notice the difference!!
I also have my rig performance tuned now by Lee Holman former drag racing champ in Cairns...they tweek boost pressure and chip settings till she runs sweet.

your rig is comming on nice.

                              thanks Joey.

if you don't mind, and when you get time, could you take a pic or 2 of your exhaust set up? thanks

i haven't had much time to work on the prado in the last couple of weeks, but i'm looking at trying to make all the light switches more uniform.

no i have to try and find some way of labelling them nice and neat.

hey steve, good to see the exhaust has given you some increased performance, seems funny you only had 6psi boost b4 the exhaust upgrade, mine still has std exhaust in ive have got 12psi, i hope i get thats sort of increase when i decide to get mine done  would be funny to see a 1kz getting 18psi boost. i reckon i would blow the head threw the bonnet or bye bye head gasget, a copper head gasget would fix that, hang on its a diesel    . cheers samo
